I Want You - Bob Dylan (4th verse)
Well, I return to the Queen of Spades
And talk with my chambermaid.
She knows that I'm not afraid
To look at her.
She is good to me
And there's nothing she doesn't see.
She knows where I'd like to be
But it doesn't matter.
I want you, I want you,
I want you so bad,
Honey, I want you
All's A Chord - Steve Howe
Don't bring yourself down here
My constitution will just disappear
You'll feel the atmosphere
Seeping between the end of the year
Even though lines are gathering
Time's still travelling
All's a chord

A Maiden's Grave by JD is one of my favs.
The story was unbeleivable. JD's novels always keeps you going.
Same here - there is something about this particular story that has stayed with me.

That's wonderful. As Sir Terry says in the article,
"It's a lovely idea, to do something for the sheer joy and incongruity of doing it,"
Well done Wincanton! I like your style!

Roddenberry was a genius.
You are 100% correct, Roddenberry created and maintained something VERY special.

Hello Bookologist!

I've been reading bits about this - I had already decided to get the DVD when it is released. It's not often I decide that before seeing a film!
Thanks scottishbookworm, it's good to get my first impression of it confirmed!

I'm on it! I'm on it! (Nice shiny reference, Chrissy!)
I thought so!

Hi Mia. I totally agree with you about the wondrous Joss Whedon. I think he's a genius. I haven't yet seen Firefly but really loved Serenity. I have my brother to thank for the Buffy/Angel stuff, as he sent me the complete collections a while ago on DVD, God bless his cotton socks.
Go buy Firefly! There is depth, subtlety, humour and development all wrapped up in it. Just buy the series.
You can see when you watch the series that it had some VERY interesting places to go. There are undertones, repeated imagery/logos, suggestions of directions - the whole shebang!
Now go on - buy the series - very cheap on Amazon, you'll be glad. All will be shiny!
I mean it! Go on now!

Tea - I never want a cup of tea more than when I'm under the weather. It has to be Tetley, it has to be medium strength, it has to be made in a pot (which has to be heated first) and it has to have a drop of skimmed milk (which HAS to go in the cup BEFORE the tea!).
Tea? You bet ya!
Crisis brewing? - have a cuppa.
Heartache? - have a cuppa.
No Very well? - have a cuppa.
There's nought a good cuppa won't help! Although personally - it has to be Yorkshire tea, definitely pot made (warmed first), and some semi skimmed in first. MILK IN FIRST IS THE LAW!

Jacket potatoes for me. I love them anyway, but as a source of comfort - Yum.

I still have many many books to read, but the 7th Harry Potter book is definitely my all time favourite at the moment. I'm reading it only for the second time now after 2 years, and wow, have I missed it. I'm still amazed at how J.K. Rowling came up with such an epic plot. Ahhhh.
I've just re read it too! I found I picked up little things that I hadn't on the first read, little nuances that weren't essential to the plot but gave a more 'flavoured' reading!
Enjoy your read - you know the story now, so you can concentrate on all the in betweeny bits!

Pine nuts are great to add texture to a salad, and little chunks of cheese.
After that it's anything else I have in the fridge/cupboard larder.
