  1. normally evenings when my wife is hogging the tv watching the soaps etc
  2. i think he is a classic marmite, you either love him or hate him, i personally love his work although like a lot of writers his earlier work is a lot better than his recent stuff
  3. i have read a lot of his books and think he will be remembered as a great great writer, he has had a lot of barren spells i think desperation, rose red, and insomnia were bad but then he came back with bag of bones which i loved, i recently read duma key which he bought out last year i thought it was his best for at least 15 years
  4. what a great question to ask. for me its just simple, i have always read since i was a kid i couldn't stop now if i tried, not that i would want to of course

  7. 2008 was the year i really rediscovered reading, i have always loved books since i was a kid but life, problems and having 2 kids of my own took over but this year i have got back into books with a passion, top 5 of the year, the stand, stephen king sleepy head, mark billingham, sharp objects, gillian flyyn trust nobody, june hampson, the cutting room, louise welsh
  8. just wondering which authors you like that you think not many people will know, i have 2 both of which i have bought books from the pound shop in hay-on-wye lol June Hampson and loiuse welsh both are writers who i have got into via the pound shop in Hay-on-wye
