I thought that The Burning Girl was a great book with a twist and an unexpected ending, in this one the copper really doesnt get his man for a change.

The ones that i really hate are the "have you been injured or had an accident", god i could really kick the tv when they come one.

i would say Pet Sematry or Misery, they seem to be ones that most people like, The Stand is his best book by far i think but its huge, the copy i read was 1400 pages it might be a bit much for someones first time. sorry if that sounds patronising i really didnt mean it that way
