  1. I've started watching this yesterday as well... Megavideo's 60mn at a time video limit is killing me
  2. Thanks, I will! I'm sure I'll get hooked eventually... always do with TV shows
  3. I haven't decided yet... I don't make my soup myself so I have several packs waiting, which I can choose from: 'vegetables from the garden', 'leeks and potatoes' or 'green vegetables'.
  4. Definitely soup! *sending lots of healthy eating vibes your way* Pssst: Chili is much more yummy really
  5. I know! Terrible how books can just topple off the shelves into our cart...
  6. Great haul Giulia! Especially for an 'accidental' one Happy reading!
  7. A mug of soup with a few croutons, a yogurt and fruit. that's my new, healthy, supper routine. I've slipped into it surprisingly easily, seeing how much I enjoy plentiful food All your menus sound yummy though!
  8. Just watched the first episode of Gilmore Girls... I keep hearing about it so thought I'd see what the fuss is about. Not sure wether I'm a fan yet, but I guess I'll need to watch a few more episodes before deciding.
  9. Great thread idea emelee! So you'd really recommend the Millenium series? I've heard it mentionned a lot, but was a little afraid they'd be very commercial, not so well written book (kinda like Twilight really *attemps to tiptoe her way out of the room*) I'll have to give it a go then. Favourite french authors? mmm, I need to think a bit about that one. Will be back.
  10. Thank you, but you shouldn't really Sorting the santas was just a matter of picking them at random. Setting up the right rules is what really made it work. So thanks a lot to you, Lucy and Stephanie for your help! And thank you's should also go to Ceiwenn and Nollaig for having the idea in the first place... a brilliant one! I'm glad everyone has had fun with this and hope those last few parcels will arrive soon... Think of it as extra christmas presents long after everyone else has finished opening theirs
  11. Weird. I got the same! And an excellent choice it is too. I've read it all WE and just finished. Very intriguing read! Thank you so much santa!
  12. Yup, can't wait!

  15. a grilled sandwich... for the third time this week
  16. My stocking got filled today! And there was a lovely letter along with the package I was going to tore it open... But when I saw the care that went into it I decided to wait. So it's now sitting under my tree Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!
  17. That is so sweet Nicola! I was 11 and friends of my parents were staying over for a few days when I read the 1st HP Book. They'd brought it for me as a gift and I thought it was stupid at first... Only read it cause it got me out of the sunday walk ("oh look at her, she just wants to know what happens next... Leave her at home! ) Needless to say that first impression didn't last... My dad had just gotten back from a business trip to the states when I read the 2nd HP. He brought it back with him and my brother proceeded to confess he'd already read it from the school library weeks before... I was SO mad at him for not sharing! Fast forward a few years (and volumes)... I was just back from a holiday abroad when the 4th HP entered our lives. My mum came to pick me up at the airport but didn't even notice I had arrived cause she was too engrossed in it. I had just finished passing the french equivalent of the A levels when HP 5 came out, which earned me the right to read it second. I was working in a bookshop when HP6 rolled out... and I was alone at home for a few days so knew I'd have no competition when the package arrived. On the delivery (publication) date I only had to work in the afternoon so I had planned on digging into the first few chapters before leaving for work. But the postman was late (probably slowed down with the weight of all the books ). I remember sitting in the garden all morning, waiting for him to show up. He finally did, 10 mn before I had to leave. I then had to endure hours of staring at huge displays of the HP6 and cashing copies for excited customers who hadn't even realised it was coming out, and didn't really read english but just bought it on a whim thinking "I'l learn". Torture I tell you! I was on an internship in India when HP7 appeared. I knew I wouldn't have the patience to wait over a month to read our family copy in France but I din't want to buy a second, overpriced, copy in India either. I had been told though that fake copies were aways printed and sold in the streets barely a day after publication date... So, shame on me, I planned on getting one. Unfortunately this time the Indian government decided to prove that they could prevent that from happening, and did massive raids on the illegal printing houses. I stalked the place where they were meant to be sold for a week but no copies ever appeared I resisted buying a legitimate copy and tried to protect myself from spoilers... until the front page of one of the most prominent newspapers threw it in my face: was their head title... After that I just threw myself at the first bookshop I came across. ... A tad HP obsessed, me ??? Not at aaaaalllllll!
  18. So. The long awaited circle is here and I have to confess I haven't finished the book In fact, after loving the beginning I just dropped it and haven't been able to pick it up since... I wasn't feeling too good and what had seemed like the most suprisingly perfect blend of funny, sad and sweet suddenly seemed just too sad. I did love the beggining though, and like I mentionned previously was very started by the way in which Toews managed to make me laugh at things, think "oh, that's a great quote, I need to remember it!" and then do a double take when I remembered just how sad the subject matter really was. Ad of course, gotta love random Thebes! Logan too, though he's more difficult to put a finger on. I promise I'll try and get back in this book... would be a shame to spoil it for myself by not finishing it.
  19. Just sent mine off and have gone with a wildcard as well... I SO hope I chose well.

  21. My second thought was close... Imagine what he might have heard his relatives/ friends say while they thought he was out of reach?! I find this story very strange though. I've seen it in several newspapers so I have no doubt it's true, but how on earth can someone stay sane through 23 years of complete paralysis and lack of communication... and come out of it lucid? Surely you'd go mad or loose faculties from the lack of stimulation?
  22. I don't see why not So long as it doesn't become extravagant... Unless anyone has an objection? I've also been asked whether we should wait for christmas day to open our packages. While that would be a nice idea I don't think it's very practical: depending on the way the gift is sent we might not even know whether it's the one from our secret santa before we open it... thoughts?
  23. That's just the most terrifying thought!
  24. Don't forget today's your last chance to post your list to Santa! Starting tommorrow, the elves will be hard at work preparing their surprises
  25. Oh yes, I saw that! Impressive challenge! Sounds fun :D

Nothing new on my end unfortunately. Work is good though.
