    Charm, I have three words for you: Duuuuuuh! :roll: Of course I will :lol: Unfortunately I had a couple of friends over tonight and went to a bar so haven't really had the chance to read more, but I'm sooooo looking forward to tommorrow to read more :D

    *sings* I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...

     

    Oh fer goodness sake :lol: Hurry up!!! You should have just told your friends to come back! :lol:

     

    Have you thought about trying out for X Factor? With that voice, I'd vote for ya! :out:

    If its a crime kick you're after then this would be perfect choice. It is pretty gruesome in places, but if like me you like that type of thing, then I definately recommend this series!

    It's summertime in the Granite city: the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and people are dying! It starts with Rosie Williams, a prostitute, stripped naked and beaten to death down by the docks - the heart of Aberdeen's red light district. For DS Logan McRae it's a bad start to another bad day. Only a few short months ago, he was the golden boy of Grampian police. But one botched raid later, he's palmed off on a DI everyone knows is a jinx, waiting for the axe to fall with all the other rejects in the 'Screw-up Squad'. Logan's not going to take it lying down. He's determined to escape DI Steel and her unconventional methods, and the best way to do that is to crack the case in double-quick time. But, Rosie Williams won't be the only one making an unscheduled trip to the morgue. Across the city, six people are burning to death in a petrol-soaked squat, the doors and windows screwed shut from the outside. And despite Logan's best efforts, it's not long before another prostitute turns up on the slab!

     

    My thoughts:

    This is the sequel to Cold Granite and even better. DS Logan McRea has been assigned to DI Steel's 'screw-up squad', after a botched raid he orchestrated left an officer in a coma. With a DI working him hard and a Chief Inspector out to get him, he sets out to prove himself and work his way out of his predicament. This proves to be easier said than done, as a serial killer is enjoying his pastime a little too much and adding bodies to the morgue on a regular basis. There also happens to be a criminal boss from another city trying to set up business on Logan's patch and he's not to be messed with ...

     

    I love the fact that this series is set in Scotland, it makes it very easy to picture in my mind and the author does an excellent job of setting a scene, although it's mid-summer, with sun! Somewhat harder to picture in Aberdeen :D

     

    This book is another gritty read from MacBride, even more gruesome than the first but with just as much dark humour. I loved the intertwining stories and the author's depiction of the main character makes him both interesting and likeable. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to getting the next in the series.

     

    If I were to compare him to another author, it would be Richard Montanari, if you liked his 'Rosary Girls' series then I think you will like this.

    I'm just at the part when Sookie and Eric left Bill behind and they're at the gas station, talking to the to guys who're after them.

    Eric: What were you supposed to watch for?

    Guys: A big dark guy and a tall blond guy. With a blond woman, real young, with nice tits.

    Eric: You are speaking of my future lover. Be more respectful.

     

    So arrogant, yet so sweet! I love it! :smile2:

     

    Well I've just read Chapter 1 and had to come here to say

    what the heck is happening with Eric?? I hope he'll soon recover. It's weird how he said a woman shouldn't be alone at this late hour and how come the men in Sookie's family aren't supporting him. Pam mentioned witches and I guess they've erased his memory but is he like mentally in the 1900s or what? Just guessing It was so sweet, him with his puppy dog eyes asking Sookie if he could come to her bedroom before he had to go sleep. And them two sleeping together in the same bed. Awww

     

     

    And, my questions where rhetorical, I do not want any spoilers

     

    I'm so excited!! :exc:Now I know how peacefield felt when I started Twilight! :D

     

    Yeah, he's gone back to being more human

    Tell me about it! I practically passed out when Sookie was sucking on his chest and he gave that sly smile! Oh, be still my beating heart! I thinkI would have given just about anything to be in her place at that moment! :lol:

     

    What about when he was in bed and smiled? Isn't that just about all that's needed to make you surrender completely!!! Oh my! :D

     

    I really enjoyed this episode, Eric is so sneaky!

     

    I love his mischiefness (is that a word? :lol:), it makes him so much more attractive! :smile2:

    Glad you found Broken Angels enjoyable Maureen :)

     

    Maybe the killer wanted to share his work, so he started to display? Its been a long time since I've read this and I only vaguely remember it :)

     

     

     

    Thats sounds really interesting. I have the Rossary girls? I think thats the one on my TBR pile.

     

    If you liked 'The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen', you'll like 'The Rosary Girls' too. :)
