I'm 41 now and supposed to be in the next catagory! How do I go about that?
I guess I'll just pretend I'm still 40 and stay where I am
-
I picked up three books from the library today -
Roadside Crosses ~ Jeffery Deaver
Dying Light ~ Stuart Macbride
and
Cold Granite ~ Stuart Macbride
I`m looking forward to reading all 3 of them.
Good choice! Start with Cold Granite before Dying Light. I've read them both and they're really good
I bought Patricia Cormwell's Predator for 25pBargain! That's one of her better ones if I remember correctly
My wonderful OH offered .... I repeat offered.... of his own free will I might add, to take me to the city to the large Waterstone's and wait, with no complaints, while I browsed! He then bought me The Sookie Stackhouse Series (except the last one, its hardback and doesn't match
, but will get it in paperback when it's out), Broken Skin by Stuart MacBride and Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
I'm one happy bunny today

Welcome to the forum Jessi! I'm sure you'll love it here
-
I bought these a while back, as when I read them I rented from the Library and so don't actually own any of the series, and the books are so pretty and mega cheap! My only gripe would be that they're books from the middle of the series rather than the beginning, but still, can't complain for
-
Good for you! I'm not buying them, although seriously tempted, I just thought all you Scarpetta fans would love a nice excuse to spend more money on books!
-
I just noticed in the monthly magazine that The Book People are doing a set of 6 Patricial Cornwell Scarpetta books for

So while taking back some books to the library I found in the corner of my eye Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. Whoo hooo, what better way to get back on the reading wagon!
Well spotted! Its my favourite Dexter book
-
Brilliant review catwoman! Sounds like you really enjoyed this, glad to hear Karin Slaughter is back on form
I have Triptych on my shelf so may bump it up a bit and add Genesis to my wishlist (beside Fractured
)

To call Portia Cane a waste of space was being charitable.
Living With The Dead ~ Kelley Armstrong
-
I finished No Humans Involved by Kelley Armstrong and loved it, although I think I may have read it and Personal Demon in the wrong order
It didn't really matter though, thank goodness.
Starting Living With The Dead by the same author now.

A plane is on its way to Toronto, when a blonde in economy class gets up, and moves to the first class section and sits down.
The flight attendant watches her do this, and asks to see her ticket.
She then tells the blonde that she paid for economy class, and that she will have to sit in the back.
The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Toronto and I'm staying right here."
The flight attendant goes into the cockpit and tells the pilot and the co-pilot that there is a blonde bimbo sitting in first class, who belongs in economy, and won't move back to her seat.
The co-pilot goes back to the blonde and tries to explain that because she only paid for economy she will have to leave and return to her seat.
The blonde replies, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, I'm going to Toronto and I'm staying right here."
The co-pilot tells the pilot that he probably should have the police waiting when they land to arrest this blonde woman who won't listen to reason.
The pilot says, "You say she is a blonde? I'll handle this, I'm married to a blonde. I speak blonde."
He goes back to the blonde and whispers in her ear. She gets up and says, "oh, I'm sorry!" and gets up and goes back to her seat in economy..
The flight attendant and co-pilot are amazed and asked him what he said to make her move without any fuss.
The pilot answered, "I told her first class doesn't go to Toronto."

I think a bin bag would still look divine on that fella
Ahhhhh.........
Easier to get off too!
...... wait a min ... did I say that out loud???

Hi Katrina
 to the bcf!
I'm sure you'll love it here

Oooh yes please
... his leather jacket look is very appealing too, so that would do failing the suit

I wanted more Eric.
Exactly! Forget the rest of the characters, just show us Eric!! Smouldering sexily with that oh so gorgeous smile ....
Don't we all! Imagine if there was a spin-off series......Starring Eric........goodness I need a lie down!
Oh dear gawd! .. roll on series 4!!!
-
Well.... *giggles* A lot has happened in Three years. ALOT of the book circles around the characters and their feelings and lives. You can tell that karin Slaughter is doing some major bottom licking. She even dedicates the book to the reader for 'Sticking with her'.]
This is nice to hear. Obviously she's been getting other negative feedback about the latest books but at least she's listening to it.
AND I am half way throughwith NO LENA.
This is not a major spolier but just incase you want to no nothing of the book. I have spoilered it..
Its sounding better already! I really don't like the character of
Lena, so I'm glad she doesn't appear
Oh and I am LOVING the Will Trent/ Sara combination. butI still miss Jeff
I was wondering what would happen.
I was so shocked when Jeff was killed! I thought what's the point in reading on? He was one of my favourite characters
Do I need to read Fractured first?
And is there much Lena in it?
h, so will switch the computer off and read some more in a minute. .This is my main problem, switching the lappy off
Someone got me addicted to a farming game on Facebook!
Not mentioning any names, ... it was Michelle!!! hehe
-
Is that due to not having time, or has your Mojo dissappeared?
As for me I have been able to read a lot today and I am so glad. I am reading Karin Slaughter's Genisis really quickly.
I think its cause I've been sat on the sofa on my lappy all day!
How is Genesis? Is it any better than her last one?
-
I agree about Maryann. It seems to be going on forever and it is starting to drag for me
Although I agree with you about the kids
"Our stepdaddy didn't like vampires" "he's on a vacation with Jesus"
or something like that
I'm sure I read that Charlaine Harris would have a cameo in the finale
yeah I laughed out loud at that Steph!
Looking forward to seeing Charlaine in the finale
-
I haven't read a thing today. Nothing. Zilch.
-
Totally agree Gyre, the series has totally put me off Bill. I mean I was put off him in the books but not to the point where he annoys me so much as he does now in the programme!
I cannot stand the way he talks, he's more like her Dad than boyfriend for heavens sake!
-
I watched episode 11 of season 2 last night and hate to say it but
I'm getting a bit fed up with the whole Marianne thing, its starting to get a bit boring!
Having said that Eric was just as much of a hunny as ever!
I loved him with the 'Teacup Humans' too!
