  3. Yes charm, that would be boring indeed! I started Generation Dead, but I'm having trouble getting into it. My mojo broke down so much, that it's not so easy to get it back on track.

  5. Everyone else here thinks that the books are great, maybe they're just not my taste.
  6. Jeff Lindsay > Darkly Dreaming Dexter Synopsis from amazon Meet Dexter Morgan, the chief protagonist of Darkly Dreaming Dexter. He's a highly respected lab technician specialising in blood spatter for the Miami Dade Police Department. He's a handsome, though reluctant, ladies' man. He's polite, says all the right things, and rarely draws attention to himself. He's also a sociopathic serial killer whose "Dark Passenger" drives him to commit the occasional dismemberment. Mind you, Dexter's the good guy in this story. My thoughts After a couple of weeks or so, I finally finished this book. Unfortunately I found this book utterly boring and rarely could get myself to read a few pages. The Dexter-series gets real high praises on this forum, so I guess, I just expected more. Nothing really happens, I thought it would be more intense, more killer-y, you know? I won't be reading the other parts of the series. Maybe the TV show is more interesting ... ? Rating: 1/5 Series: Dexter 1
  7. Just go ahead Chrissy and steal away. I did spent (and still sometimes do) quite some time organzing all the lists and adding new ones, rename old ones shifting things from one list to another. I just love to do that
  8. I've got 14 wishlists on amazon, all nicely organized 1 > Children's Book 2 > cooking books 3 > DVDs I'd like to watch 4 > DVDs and CDs I'd like to have 5 > cartoonish DVDs I'd like to have (Disney and such) 6 > books in german I'd like to have 7 > books in english I'd like to have 8 > dark books I'd like to read (thriller & crime) 9 > light books I'd like to read (chick lit & romance) 10 > fantasy books I'd like to read 11 > young adult/teen books I'd like to read 12 > non fiction I'd like to read (travel stories) 13 > nintendo ds games 14 > all the things that didn't fit in one of the other categories (and of course, all book series are bundled together in the right order.)
  9. How did you carry all the books home? (thinking practical here )
  10. I have this on my TBR pile aswell. Let us know what you think of it.
  11. I still haven't finished Dexter, but managed to read some pages at the weekend. I'm getting closer to the end, yay.
  12. No reading mojo what so ever I started the first Dexter book last week and haven't even finished it yet. Didn't read the whole week so far. Dexter destroyed my mojo, this book is so boring
  13. Oh my, what a bargain! I don't know almost all of these books, except for the Philip Pullman ones, which are really good!

  15. I finally decided which books to take to switzerland tomorrow night. As we're only staying until sunday, I chose 2 rather thin books. The already started Agatha Christie: Hickory Dickory Dock and the third part of Mary Janice Davidsons Undead-Series.
  16. The best thing happened, I was strolling around the next big city and found a tiny english supermarket and guess what they had... Pop Tarts They didn't have much variety left, but I got myself strawberry ones with icing to try. Very sweet but tasty and I'm going to try every flavor they have in that shop, one after another.
  17. Going the distance at the cinema. Very sweet
  18. Mary Janice Davidson > Suess wie Blut und teuflisch gut (Undead and unemployed) Synopsis from amazon Queen Elizabeth I, aka Betsy Taylor, is adjusting to life after death as a vampire, but she still needs a job. To satisfy her lust for sexy shoes, she lands one in Macy's, but one night she is attacked by zit-remedy-scented slayers who are targeting female vampires. While trying to find out who is behind the plot, she befriends an adolescent gang called the Blade Warriors and the kindly priest who leads them. Betsy's unwanted consort, sexy Eric Sinclair, king of the vampires, doesn't know how to deal with a vampire queen who sneezes at holy water and wears a cross around her neck, and a charming subplot involving a mysterious five-year-old girl in saddle shoes adds poignancy to this wickedly clever and amusing romp. My thoughts A good read to better my reading mojo, as it's so quickly finished and just simply fun. I happily noticed, that this book is not as much "in your face" as the first in the series (as I mentioned in my review of part one). Rating: 3/5 Series: Undead 2
  19. I finished Undead and unemployed today and will be starting Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay soon.
