Hello my dear! Sorry to be the bearer of some bad news, but I have yet to mail the book. My idiot employer (the old one) conveniently "forgot" to pay me, so I couldn't afford to mail it last weekend. I got my cheque in the post today, so will get it mailed off to you tomorrow.
Sorry!

Hi! You are very welcome! I wasn't going to tell you that I had bought it, I was just going to pop it into the post, but when you posted that comment, I just couldn't resist telling you. I couldn't believe my luck & I swear, I must have stood there for about 20 minutes trying to decide what to do! I picked them up & put them back, then picked them up again, then went & found some other stuff, then went back & stood in front of the books again trying to decide whether you would want me to buy Dorian Gray for you or not. D'oh! I'm a bit of a dumbass then, aren't I? I'm ok, but I am really growing sick of living in this hotel! I really shouldn't complain, I know, but I'm going to anyway! I am just tired of being away from N, being away from home, eating hotel food - I've put on all the weight I had previously lost.................grrrr!
I know what you mean about the heat. I used to be able to handle the heat, but no more. The summers in Canada where I grew up were very hot - standard temps hovering in the mid to high 30's & quite humid. Now, I've lived here too long & I just can't handle the heat any more! A few years ago I went to Italy to see a friend & ended up with sun stroke - even though it was only in the low to mid 30's! Will definately have snow any day of the week!

Thanks! Technically it's not Canada Day any longer (though it's not midnight anywhere in Canada yet). How have you been?

Hello! Yes, it sure has been hot here in Doncaster. Too hot! I used to be able to handle the heat, but not any more - I have been here too long! The worst thing is that it has been hot & there has been virtually no breeze, which makes it awful. I am so glad that the hotel has aircon!
How have you been? How's the weather in Inverness?

No, unfortunately not for good. I have signed on for another month (I think I need my head examined!) This is definately the last one though. Hopefully I'll get the job I interviewed for on Monday, in Wales, then it's potentially another month apart while I look for somewhere for us to live in Llanberis, then that's it - never again!

Hi! I just thought I would move this in here so I'm not going off topic. I have read A Prayer for Owen Meany. I loved it! I've read that, The Cider House Rules, The 158-pound Marriage & The Hotel New Hampshire. I want to read The World According to Garp as well, but haven't yet.

Thanks Charm! Enjoy your rest the soak!! (I know exactly what you means about old bones!)
Secretly I am hoping that they tell me they don't need me, but at the same time, we need the money. What would be ideal would be if they tell me that they aren't sure that was going to happen, then the hotel in Wales tells me yes, so that I don't have to worry about being unemployed. Although, if we are careful, with my pay at the end of this month, we have enough money to get us through to the end of August without having to touch our savings.
Definately cya later!

Things aren't too bad. I have a job interview on Monday in Llanberis, Wales & I am keeping everything that's possible to cross, crossed! Nige is really hopefull, but quietly so just in case we get let down again. This job is just about done & I will be very surprised if they keep me until the middle of July. We shall see!
Sounds like things are shaping up nicely at your house! What in the bedroom is he tiling? The floor?
