Things are, well, I have to admit, I'm not really sure! I have about 4 weeks to decide whether to pack in my job or not & I really do not know what to do. I don't know if I am up for the challenge that I am facing & I have no idea whether my considering quitting is because I am looking for the "easy" way out. Not an ideal time to be out of work, but my boss's demands are getting the better of me & I'm not honestly sure how much more of this I can take!
Are the witch & the scream man your kids?

Hi Inver, I'm fine, thanks! And you? What've you been up to lately? Nothing but work & sleep for me, I'm afraid! I have a new trainee & am sooooo looking forward to her being able to run a shift on her own so that I can go back to regular hours & doing my own job! Got anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Thanks for the kind words! I am feeling so much turmoil about work & have no idea what to do about it! Being short staffed for the last 5 months certainly doesn't help! I'm sure I'll get through it, though & hopefully it'll get better when our new General Manager starts at the hotel next week.

Hey Rach, When you tuck into Songs of the Humpback Whale let me know what you think, would you? I'm reading it at the moment & would love to hear what you think!

Inver, I'm about 1/2 way through Songs... & I have to admit I am struggling to read it. This one definately has not gripped me & it's certainly not a book I am going to want to re-read. Very different style of writing - she is essentially writing the book backwards from the near end - very hard to explain what I mean. For instance, one chapter would be about something that happened near the end of the story & the next is about something that happened before that, but you need the information from the second chapter to make sense of the 1st. Does that make sense? I shall persevere, but I'm not really enjoying it.

It sounds like we like/liked (as the case may be) a lot of the same authors! I tried to vary my reading (authors) a lot when I was younger but always seemed to gravitate back to the same genre. Don't get me wrong, I do love a lot of different types of genres, but I seem to read the thriller/mystery much more than the others!
