  1. Yep some people do keep hedgehogs as pets. But one cannot take a hegdehog from the wild and keep him, that's illegal. But at least here there are four different kinds of hedgehogs which are sold as pets in the petstores. I think they're cute! They're a bit pricy, and at the moment they live for only 5-6 years. And they are definitely recommended to nocturnal people, because they are more active in the night-time.

Do people keep hedgehogs as pets?? I had a 'pet' one once, hibernating in my back garden!

  2. Oh please do. Ryan doesn't feel like a person that would mind. But beware, he'll probably want to join you two at some point :D

  3. For some weird reason the books that I seem to be putting off reading the most are the ones I'd like to read the most. I don't know if that makes any sense. I guess I have such high hopes for them that I don't want to just read them whenever, but only until my mood is right for them. For example Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar, Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair (which is actually a reread) plus his other Thursday Next novels, Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants, Tolkien's Lord of the Rings (which is also on hold for it's massiveness)...
  4. Oh you're allergic too, that's gotta be even more difficult for you because you do have a dog to go to =/

I don't think I could settle for anything other than a dog, dogs tickle my fancy and while I do like other animals, I don't like them enough to want to have them. Well a hedgehog might be an exception... But you never know :)

  5. Well, I had ordered Breaking Dawn before New Years so it's a legal buy, and Hunchback and A Suitable Boy were totally on my TBR before I bought them. And, Terry Pratchett is just something that you cannot just pass without buying. I think this answer should satisfy you!

Yep I seem to be reading quickly now but that's probably just because Metamorphosis was really short as well as Jekyll&Hyde. I don't know how I'm gonna manage A Suitable Boy, there's 1270 pages...

  6. I bet that makes going back home to visit much more special because she's there eagerly waiting :D I don't have pets myself. I'd love to have a dog but I'm allergic so that's not happening. I live through other people's pets  hmm, it's not as weird as it may sound...

  7. Ah, so there is! Holly is really cute :D

  8. Great! I'll be watching your blog :smile2: BTW, the rest on your book haul list were books that I've never heard of before, although I've heard of Harlan Coben. Will probably try some of her/his stuff eventually, been hearing good things about them.

  9. These books really are great. Have you seen the tv-series? They are also great, really scary and creepy.
  10. Oh yeah, forgot to ask: are you planning on visiting the remaining 2 shops anytime soon? I bet you are. Thirst for books must have grown!

  11. That was definitely a good gig then!! So many books/authors on your wishlisth, that's amazing. I gotta go take a peek in the which books came to my home today -thread =D Are you going to get down to Dorian Gray anytime soon? That's a book that I've been meaning to read for so long but keep putting it off. I might start reading it sooner if you recommended it :)

  12. Definitely! It's amazing, one of my favorite reads!
  13. If this has been dull, I can't imagine what the previous years have been like. I've thoroughly enjoyed this season and am gonna miss it when it's over.
  14. Finished reading The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Now this is a classic but I really didn't know much about it beforehand so it was a fresh read. And surprisingly short. A bit too short, me thinks. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it, even more than I thought I would. It was creepy! Feel like reading more horror stories. And classics. Hmmm, horror classics...
  15. Please put up pics of puppy in your album, pronto, please! :)

  16. You're right, there's quite a lot of offtopicing going on here. That's probably one of the reasons I like BCF: it's not so formal and one can say whatever pops into their mind. But I guess it's not as recommended as staying on topic.. Weird.

  17. Well? Did you get lucky in the charity shops? I hope you had a good session! :D

  18. Not a bad suggestion. After I had read it I kept thinking that I need to google for other people's comments on the book and see if there are people who can decipher Kafka. Didn't put me off reading more Kafka though, I still want to read The Trial someday.
  19. Ulf Dahlen is certainly not much appreciated, the conversation on the thread got deleted :blush:

  20. So nice that you didn't make rude comments about my chicken wings eventhough you could've Besides, chicken will be a nice change, I've been eating venison for almost a week
  21. Hiya! And thanks for the friend request :D How'd you come about liking the Swedes so much?

  22. Feeling rather lazy today so will just put hot chicken wings in the oven.
  23. I've never read Kafka either before now. I decided to read Metamorphosis because it's on Rory's books list (Rory from Gilmore Girls) and because it was quite short, around 90 pages so picking it up wasn't intimidating. I knew beforehand that it's not a straighforward story but there are metaphors and what not literary thingies. It was an okay read but I didn't get that much out of it, and didn't feel like going too deep into it. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't difficult to read it, but I guess there should have been more to the story than I managed to get out of it.
  24. Finished Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka last night.
