  1. And also the last harry potter book, Deathly Hallows. I'd slept in the day before getting my copy at midnight, so I could read it all without stopping, other than for coffee.

Wow, hats off to you! I would've loved to have read it in one sitting, it was so good, but it was just way too long for me to read just like that :D I still can't believe anyone could manage it. That's commitment if anything!

  2. I'm quite surprised that Coolio isn't facing eviction yet. I really don't understand why he keeps up with annoying poor Michelle. I hope she toughens up and doesn't give up because of him, she's growing on me.

As for the people who are facing eviction, I'm not surprised. I really don't understand how Tina can blame Coolio for being so loud, I think she can be just as loud as him, although she's not as much in-your-face as Coolio. But she seems a bit intimidating and I agree with some of the housemates who've said that she voices her opinion quite loudly and feels that those who disagree are on the wrong.

I'm just loving this show. Either these Celebrity BBs are more filled with action and seem really eventful because they don't last so long, or then the British BBs in general are much better than the Finnish ones. It's been ages since the last UKBB was aired in Finland and I know there are a lot of people who miss them and there are petitions going for getting UKBB back. I'm joining the ranks.

This weeks been really eventful, I really enjoyed their Call on Me aerobics and Great Britain quizzes.

As for my current favorites; LaToya, Michelle and Verne (maybe even Ben). I'm really disappointed in Tommy, I thought he would be so much fun with his anarchy and Scottish accent, but he seems like a killjoy  Terry isn't as nice as I thought he would be either, and I'm really starting to think that Verne and Ben are the only gentleman in the house.

I'm done with my rambling for now :D

Ps. Even my BF is watching it and having a laugh with it, he's never been so keen with the Finnish BBs! So it MUST be good :D

  3. I just realised that's one of the reasons why I didn't like the Reichs book I had (and sent to frankie). In general I don't like reading books about middle-aged people. I don't know why, I just don't. Especially books of 'lighter' type. Seriously, if the blurb mentiones adult kidds or "married for 20 years" or something like that, I'm putting the book down. Weird.

You could do what I do with Tempe Brennan books: just forget that she's older in them and pretend that she's as young as in the tv-series. And ... adopted Katy when she was twelve. And is originally born somewhere where her dear Mom forced her to marry when she was like 7. Yep, that oughta do it.

  4. I don't watch the singing ones at all! I was in a taxi once and the taxi driver asked me if I thought someone or other would win and I did not know who he was talking about and when I said that, the taxi driver looked at me like I just fell out of the sky

:D Sure you should know about it, it's top news always!

I only watch the singing shows when they are auditioning. The good ones and the bad ones. After that I can't be bothered.

  5. I watch quite a lot of reality TV. I like Big Brother, America's Next Top Model (or any other country's that is aired here) to name a few. Oh, and one of the best shows was definitely Flavor of Love. It's so hilarious and _unreal_. I Love New York was also great.

Can't stand Dancing with the Stars or America's [or other country's] Got Talent though.

  6. I watched the movie when it first came to the cinemas. I think I was a year too young to be allowed to go watch it but nobody asked me my age and I didn't tell  It was a fab movie! And boy did we love Brad Pitt, my friend and I!

I noticed the book a few years after that (still in my teens) and tried reading it but found it boring. I just couldn't get into it and decided to forget about it. But I've decided to give it another go now that I've read other vampire tales (well, Twilight and New Moon). I've also noticed that Anne Rice's books seem to be really popular here amongst some of you, so all the more reason to try it. I presume that Interview with the Vampire is the first in the series? Are there just the one series or has she written other series as well?

I'm next in line for IwtV in my local library :D

  7. There's a novel called The Boy Who Loved Anne Frank by Ellen Feldman, if anyone's interested. It tells the story from the point-of-view of Peter van Pels who lived with Anne Frank when they were in hiding. Now, I haven't read this so don't know if it's any good, and it's fiction. I just thought I'd let you know in case anyone's interested :)

  8. Glad to see your enjoying Kathy Reichs Frankie, I haven't been let down by her books yet :)

Edit: You do realise though, if you keep adding more than you read, your TBR pile will be bursting out of your apartment!!! :D

Yes... ;) ... But I'm done with my adding now, from here on out it's just reading, reading, reading!

Which brings me to my point: Just finished Grave Secrets by Kathy Reichs. This is so far my least favorite from Brennan books, I just couldn't really get into the story. Which is really surprising, because Reichs has the ability to make things that seem dull to me very interesting. For example I was a bit bored already in advance when I found out that Deadly Decisions involved motorbikes and Fatal Voyage was about a plain crash. And yet I really enjoyed these books.

Well, maybe the next one turns out to be better. I'm off to bed with Bare Bones :D

    Since last post I've finished

    - Sophie Kinsella: Remember me? (Good for giggles, much appreciated!)

    - Kathy Reichs: Fatal Voyage (Turned out to be a real exciting read. There was a twist towards the end of it which I at first disliked a lot but then it made sense and really turned the story aroung. Excellent!)

    - Helen Keller: Story of My Life (Boring! Had such high expectations)

Just finished Baby Jane by Sofi Oksanen. I was surprised at how quick a read it was. I'd give it 8/10.

  9. Me too. I read Bag of Bones, Desperation and Dreamcatcher all around the same time and enjoyed them all.

Anyone know which King book 'The sparrows are flying' line is from? can't remmember. Was about an author with split personality i think.

I think it's The Dark Half?

  10. I just finished 'Darkly Dreaming Dexter' ~by~ Jeff Lindsay this evening and I have to say thank you to Frankie for recommending it to me :P. I think it's helped me get my mojo back!

This isn't like any serial killer book I have ever read before.

I loved it. ;) I found it to be quite a light hearted read, considering its genre, and would say its more of a black comedy than a serious thriller (although that might be due more to my sense of humour than fact ). I would definately buy more of the series.

    8/10

Charm, you're more than welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :D And I am surprised that you who have read so many thrillers and murder+serial killer books thought that this managed to be a unique read! Like I already said, just you wait for the next one, it's gross :she:

I also have to say that I too found it quite amusing at times, in a dark ha-haa (not funny giggle ha-haa) sort of way.

I do recommend the TV-series as well but I guess you started that already. For me it took maybe 3 episodes (I almost hated the first episode, can you believe that), then I was hooked.
