  1. Thank you! A lovely piece of chocolate cake is waiting for me!

  2. So, since I last was on here I've read: CJ Sansom: "Sovereign" K Jones, C Jones and J Buhring "Not Without My Sister" Minette Walters "The Devil's Feather" Ann Cleeves "Red Bones" Johan Theorin "Nattf
  3. I haven't been here (would like to say some well chosen words about my husband's workplace and the internetdepartement- but you know what I mean anyway) but I have been reading. On Frankie's recommendation I went looking for books by Sofi Oksanen, and found "Baby Jane" in the Trusted Local Library, I read it and enjoyed it, the style in this book at least was a bit similar to Johanna Sinisalo. I read "Birds Without Wings" by Louis B
  4. Fish soup. I love it- AND I made it with salmon today, so it's excellent!
  5. I'm reading a Swedish historical novel by Elisabeth Nemert, about the Gotland island in the 1300's. Interesting, but dryish.
  6. Dried mango. ( I will not eat the candy in the cupboard, I will not eat the candy in the cupboard, I will not eat the candy in the cupboard...)
  7. I've read a really interesting book: "Half of a yellow sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I cared for the characters very much, especially the two twin sisters and their very complicated relationship to each other. I also found the book to be very educational, since Nigerian history and Biafra is something very new to me.
  8. My lovely colleagues had gotten me a present, since I've been ill for some time and still will be away from work for a while, they've figured I must be running out of books to read. So I got: Michael Connelly- Trunk Music Jess Walter - Over Tumbled Graves Anna Jansson - Fr
  9. I have a small stamp collection, I used to collect stamps when I was a kid. I also collect a special version of Arabia porcelain, it's a series called "Willow" but since the motives vary a little, it's just the one with the motive called "Canton" that I'm really interested in. Luckily, it's hard to find which means that all I have is a convenient excuse to go browsing in antique shops and fleamarkets.
  10. Dinner tonight will be pasta bolognese.
  11. Hello! Hope you'll like it here!

  13. Hello! Hope you'll like it here.
  14. For my Librarything challenge (one book for every UN memeber state) I've read Ismail Kadare
  15. I found "The Catcher in the Rye" in a second-hand bookstore today.
  16. Hmm, I haven't read anything by Sofi Oksanen yet. AND I wouldn't have to wait for the translation either.. and there it goes on to the wishlist.
  17. I'm going to make shrimp risotto tonight! Yum!
  18. Drinking a cup of cherry tea.
  19. I've had mostly good experiences from Book mooch, but I'm really looking for readable copys only. I try to describe my books as they are and hope that the person who gets them are satisfied. Also, one can't really expect to find just that one book, but I've been lucky to find some good ones.
  20. I've been reading "Dark Fire" by C J Sansom, off and on, one chapter at a time basically, but I finally finished it this morning. There was a lot more action than in the first book, but I have to say that the mystery was clever, I didn't know how it would end. And for good measure I read the one book by Markus Zusak that I hadn't read before- Fighting Ruben Wolfe. It was a short YA, so it was a fast read. I liked it, but it's the one of his books that I liked the least. I realize I'm very far from the target audience for this book..
  21. :sign0072:

The best of birthdays to you!

  22. I have some books that I plan to donate to this hospital when I have the chance. I have them registered on Bookmooch but since it seems nobody's interested in them, I thought someone might like to have something to read here. I was certainly pleased to find reading material here.
  23. Now for my reading today. Another Swedish book, this time by Per Anders Fogelstr
  24. How have you enjoyed The No1 Lady Detective so far? I just love the whole series. It was even OK to see on TV, even if the books are better, of course.
