  1. Can't beat a bit of pasta. Or a good Spaghetti Bolognaise.
  2. I'm sure there are a lot of things I haven't tried. When I grow up I'm going to make a habit of trying new foods and drink. I've recently started trying different wines, only the odd glass in an evening or something, if my parents let me. Bare in mind, I'm only 15.

    Hi, just joined

Hello to you Carbrasopa, my names Ben. Welcome to the forums, you're certainly in the right place to find some new reading pleasures, and certainly some new friends to share the thoughts about novels with.
  4. Haven't read any of them, but have heard good things. Maybe one to add to that ever-growing list!
  5. I've also read Kensukes Kingdom, but not for a while, may have to re-read. I loved it when I read it. Also I've got my own copy of Kensukes Kingdom signed by Micheal Morpurgo himself!
  6. I've read all 12 books from The Saga of Darren Shan and enjoyed every single one of them! Also loved the ending. I've also read most of the demontana ones, but there is a new one out, and I'm not sure of the title. I might have to re-read the others from the demontana series to catch up, as it's been a while.
  7. I have read His Dark Materials trilogy many times now, and each one of the books I enjoyed thoroughly! I love Lyra, and all the different characters in each of the book. I love also how Lyra . Phillip Pullman is an amazing author, and I would say that trilogy is a must read for everyone. I'm considering reading some of his other works as well.
  8. She probably is being, your right. But we all know it's because she knows that her series has become so popular, and that she'll get away with it. Of course, I'll also buy.. will be interesting to read it from another point of view.
  9. Me too, haha. I assume your talking about The Tales Of Beedle The Bard? Awesome, I haven't got around to reading that either, I think it's next after reading Treasure Island. I'll be happy to discuss both with you.
  10. I can honestly not believe I've never read this book. I'm certainly starting Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, as soon as possible. Sypnosis from back. Following the demise of a thirsty buccaneer Captain Flint, young Jim Hawkins finds himself with the key to a fortune. For he has discovered a map that will lead him to the fabled Treasure Island. But a host of villains, wild beasts and deadly savages stand between him and the stash of gold. Not to mention the most infamous pirates to ever sail the high seas...
  11. Finished First Test. I was very impressed actually, had not really heard of Tamora Pierce, but this left me wanting more. I would recommend. Kel really stands up for who she is and what she believes in, I love her 'Never give in' attitude, and how she sticks up for herself despite all the odds. I bought this book over a year ago and could never get into it, but this time I found it thoroughly enjoyable. (Maybe I was having an off day.) I will certainly see if I can get the sequel asap. My rating. 7/10.
  12. Currently reading First Test by Tamora Pierce. Just getting into it really, but it sounds good so far. Sypnosis from the back. In the medieval and fantastic realm of Tortall, Keladry of Mindelan (Known as Kel) is the first girl to take advantage of the decree that permits females to train for knighthood. Up against the traditional hazing of pages and a grueling scedule, Kel faces only one real roadblock: Lord Wyldon, the training master of pages and squires. He is absolutely against girls becoming knights. So while he is forced to train her, Wyldon puts her on probation for a year. It's a trial period that no male page has ever had to endure and one that separates the good-natured Kel even more from her fellow trainees during the tough first year. But Kel is not a girl to underestimate, as everyone is about to find out...
  13. The Northern Lights triology. - Phillip Pullman. (Most read for anyone.) The Davinci Code. - Dan Brown. The power of five series. - Anthony Horowitz. Twilight saga. - Stephenie Meyer. Harry Potter series. - JK Rowling.
  14. Mostly all my books are in my bedroom on my shelves. I'm finding less and less room all the time; the cupboard that's under my bed wasn't supposed to have books in it, but now the entire top shelf is full in there. Hehe. When I'm older and I get my own place, I'll hopefully get the chance to have a miniature library or at least a room just for books. We'll see.
  15. It's happened a few times to me, I tend to find brilliant books that make me unable to put them down. Fear by Jeff Abbot, I read in one sitting. And also the last harry potter book, Deathly Hallows. I'd slept in the day before getting my copy at midnight, so I could read it all without stopping, other than for coffee.
  16. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, are a brilliant collection of books in my opinion. I stumbled upon Twilight in borders, a long time ago now. I picked it up and random, some would say it jumped out at me, who knows. I read it, and knew at once that I was going to love it, and any others she would do. I passed the book on to a friend to try out, and from there the series hit my school like a whirlpool. Everyone I knew was reading it, even people that I didn't even read that much. I was amazed that I'd got so many people into the books, and was pretty pleased. Some people weren't impressed with the ending to Breaking Dawn, but I was. . I thoroughly enjoyed each one of the books, and would recommend them all to people who enjoy a good, action-packed novel.

  18. Hey atleast I didn't say anything nasty.
  19. Sounds like a lot of people enjoy this book.
  20. Finished Philosophers Stone today - 7/10. Not so good at reviews, but I enjoyed the twist-and-turns, and it brings back memories and makes me realise how all JK's success is very much deserved.
  21. I don't like big brother.
  22. Glad the readings going well.
