  1. Eeewww I can't stand beetroot!!!! Ick
  2. I've never heard of this mystical Scottish cake either, and I'm Scottish too! We must be told of this secret, it's our right to know!
  3. Dark haired maybe suits his character more? I always think of Stuart Townsend and he has brown hair
  4. I absolutely adored Stuart Townsend as Lestat in Queen of the Damned, have you seen it? I know he's supposed to be blond, but he played the part so well! I always think of Louis as Brad Pitt now!
  5. A lot of the time when I watch a movie after reading the book, I'm disappointed. But not with Stephen King's Dreamcatcher, that one was pretty good from what I remember.
  6. Yeah I got it off amazon using a voucher someone got me for Christmas, heh. Sorry to hear about your purse, it's horrible when that happens! Never had mine stolen but I've lost my main debit card before, not a nice feeling! My second book Nightswallow is sort of out now, but is being tweaked slightly with a new cover! 10% of the profits are going to Sightsavers charity too :) you can read about it on my website. I'm just waiting on some reviews and that's a bit nerve-racking. You've had some great reviews so I see, can't wait to get stuck right into Genesis of Man! I'm reading a couple of other things at the moment too which I don't usually do, but Just After Sunset by Stephen King was just too tempting! Hope you're alright and get your new cards okay, take care, B. -x-

  7. Really?! I'm shocked! Haggis is actually really quite nice as long as you don't think about what's in it! I've enjoyed haggis many a time although it's not something I've ever cooked myself yet. Asparagus is lovely! Although I saw on a tv program that it can make your pee smell funny an hour after you've eaten it

Yeah I'd love to go back there with someone next time, give me a bit more confidence to see more! Last time i got lost in Tokyo Station for around an hour, it's like a huge shopping mall and I couldn't find my way back out!
  10. Hi June, just thought I'd let you know I'm reading your book at the moment! Really interesting so far, looks great too, well done! B. -x-

Iceland?? Can I ask why? Just doesn't stand out to me as somewhere I'd most want to visit. For me I'd love to go to New Zealand, back to Tokyo, Mayalsia, Thailand, China, Peru and Easter Island!

I loooove travelling, so much that I spent three weeks in Japan alone when I was 19. None of my friends could have time off/afford to go so I thought it why not go alone? Knew there might not be a time when I could afford it or have the time so I just went! I love NY too, only been there once and have a photo of me at the top of the World Trade Centre, an amazing view behind me. It'd be great to go somewhere this year as last year I just didn't have the money so come on people, need lots of book sales so I can afford to travel!
  13. I've tried all the usual stuff now that I had in my list of wanting to try, including lobster, oysters, frog's legs, snails etc. Have heard monkey is good but not sure I'd want to try that! I think I'd like to try snake after watching the Top Gear Vietnam special!
  14. I love Stephen King so much, I'm reading 'Just After Sunset', the new collection of short stories am quite enjoying it so far although there's a bit of an odd mix in there.
  15. How strange, I've got exactly the same opinion - some of his books I love, others not so much. I especially love the Odd Thomas series and Fear Nothing and Seize the Night. Twilight Eyes is another of my favs
  16. Jeffy the Burglar's cat (I think) I read it when I was about 11, 12 or maybe even younger, and I got to the end late at night and it was so beautiful and so much ... somehow bigger than expected, it made me burst into tears. Proper crying, the way kids do. I think I woke up my parents, because it was so sad and so wonderful at the same time. I'm not sure if I've ever had the same reaction to a book again. I cried when I wrote a scene in Nightswallow though (that's my new book out soon ) I thought that was quite weird, to cry at something you're actually writing!
  17. Yeah, we've got a small-ish tree on our windowsill and Christmas lights all around the window, looks very festive! Got to take care outside though, it's getting frosty and bloody cold too! Brrrr -x-

  18. Sorry to hear about that, I've lost a cat and an uncle this year too. I've now got a hamster called Smudge :) yeah can't wait til Christmas this year. So much has happened this year it's been crazy! Am hoping next year will be just as eventful, with the completion of Grassmarket Blood and the start of a new business - my partner wants to go into web developing professionally, he made my new website :) Lets hope for a happier year, too!

  19. Hey there! I'm great thanks, haven't been on here much lately but I'm really excited because my new website is finally up! And there's t-shirts and fun stuff too! Ow's you, Squire? -x-

  20. I liked the cover but when I read the blurb it didn't interest me so much, so I passed on buying it. It's caught my eye a few times recently though.
  21. Hey :)

I'm very well thanks, moving to Glasgow has been crazy! I don't really know anyone here yet though, I have no friends!

Sure you can bring your copy and I'll sign it for you. Actually just wondering, Michelle requested I sent 2 copies of the book to review... do you know what happened to the second? Will there be another review up?

Hope you're well, I'm off to see The Mighty Boosh tonight! Yay!

    Take care,

  22. Wow, thank you Gyre, I can't still can't get over that review! So glad you enjoyed it I hope that horrible (wrong) image won't put people off buying it online hope it's fixed soon!
  23. Gyre, I only just read the review you wrote on my book and I want to thank you for all the lovely things you said :D that was my first review and I couldn't have wished for a better one! Do I have your permission to quote it on my website? Thank you so much, I'm delighted with it and so happy you enjoyed the book so much! That's given me a bit of confidence for the signing on Saturday lol.

  24. Hi Gyre, I love the dark pony! Thank you so much for your comment about the book, that means so much to me! So have you wrote a review (it was for the review, wasn't it?)? If you can make it on Saturday I can sign your book for you :) oh and that weird book cover is my publisher's fault (although they don't know how it happened) and I'm still hoping they sort it out soon, it's so frustrating and it can't exactly be helping further promotion!

  25. Oh wow, Hobbes! Yeah, I know about the image - the publisher has been trying to remedy it by uploading the proper one again. It's very frustrating because it's probably affecting sales and everything to do with the book.
