  1. The Book Theif by Markus Zusak Synopsis: It’s just a small story really, about among other things: a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery... Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak’s groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist–books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbors during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau. This is an unforgettable story about the ability of books to feed the soul. Courtesy of amazon.com Rating: 5/5 Thoughts: I finished this book in March and I've not been able to stop thinking about it since. It was beautifully written and touched me deeply. Liesel will surely remain in my heart forever. If you've yet to read this book, you should treat yourself immediately! I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Has anyone read I Am the Messenger? After reading The Book Thief I'm curious to read other works by Zusak, but I also have the feeling his other works will be a let down. The Book Thief was just too good!

I love real books and taking these pics has become a way for me to express just how much I do. Thank you, Inver! I'm hoping to read at least one of O'Farrell's books this summer. Hoping to update this blog soon. I have a few books/thoughts to post, and I also have a few pictures to upload as well.
