  1. Thanks for the great reviews! I've just added several books to my tbr pile. I'm especially looking forward to reading Brooklyn by Colm Toibin.
  2. Exactly! I couldn't agree with you more, Mac. I'm really surprised to see how many of you like the stark white paper. For some reason it's hard for me to read the words on paper like that and I'll actually go as far as not buying a book if it's printed on white paper.
  3. LOL! I was just debating whether or not I should open this link since my tbr pile is already way out of control!

  5. OMG! Finally someone who understands! My family has been pressuring us since year five to get married. When we moved in together after 10 years they thought for sure we were going to get married. Not sure why since I have always said we are not getting married. Then after I turned 30 this year all I get is, "can you at least have a baby?" Um, no! What's so wrong with not wanting to get married and have kids?
  6. Happy Birthday! =)

  7. LOL! I would have been so upset if it started earlier than the 9th because I need the extra time to catch up. Hopefully Netflix sends me out the DVD I need of season one next week so I can be all caught up for the premiere.
  8. Gone Daddy Gone - Violent Femmes
  9. I'm having a bowl of Pops!
  10. I saw Nanny McPhee Returns today and I really enjoyed it. I think I'll have to see the first one now.
  11. AMC's new series Rubicon.
  12. Thanks, Mac! I’m definitely going to check it out. =)

  13. When he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  14. I'm 100 pages into my re-read of To Kill a Mockingbird and thoroughly enjoying it.
  15. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky Synopsis: This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up. Courtesy of barnesandnoble.com Review: My only criticism for The Perks of Being a Wallflower is that I wish the author hadn’t crammed four years of high school experiences into one year. The fact that Charlie went through all the events in the book during one calendar year was beyond unbelievable to me. Other than that I have to say that I enjoyed the book very much. I thought it was blunt, honest and sweet. I give it a 4/5.
  16. Hey Mac! I have not read anything by Elizabeth Kostova. Is there something specific of hers that you'd recommend?

Great show! Especially the first couple of seasons, after that I slowly stopped watching.
  19. Almost done with The Perks of Being a Wallflower, then I'm going to start To Kill a Mockingbird.
  20. Abby, I wouldn't mind getting up early either. I rarely sleep past 7am on the weekends.
  21. There's so many classics I still need to read, so as of now mine are: Jany Eyre by Charlotte Bronte To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
  22. I only managed to read a couple of pages of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I've had the worst migraine all day. =(
  23. Chicken with cheddar cheese, black beans and red peppers in a tomato wrap.
  24. Welcome to the forum, David! Enjoy! =)
  25. Mac, I wouldn't go bumping it up to much. I'd say wait till you want to read something that's a tad boring and truly depressing, but very well written. =) Heather, if you ever get around to reading it I'd love to hear your thoughts. It sounded like a great book and came highly recommended, but I really disliked it.
