  1. That's what I thought. Loved the first and third parts, but the second part dragged a bit.
  2. That's interesting, as I haven't read past that one. It's a shame sometimes when a great series just gets dragged on for too long. I'm sure there's a new Adrian Mole book out too - unless I've imagined that.
  3. Thanks for the reminder - I had forgotten! Off to set Sky+ now, as I don't think hubby fancies watching this much!
  4. About to start Anagrams, by Lorrie Moore. Not sure what to expect - I think I only bought it because it was a 'try me for 99p' from Waterstones. Looks quite good though:)
  5. Just finished reading Misery. Amazing story (even though I had seen the movie and vaguely remembered ). Thoroughly enjoyed it - didn't want to put it down!
  6. How about the Adrian Mole books? They never fail to make me laugh. Another book which made me laugh out loud loads of times was Forrest Gump, by Winston Groom. Don't go into it expecting it to be similar to the movie - it's very different, but very funny too.
  7. I liked the books as well:) The films were okay - but I wasn't overwhelmed by them.
  8. Well, so far I am really enjoying Misery. I think I will get The Dark Half is Misery ends up being as good as it's started out as.
  9. The Devil's Advocate. I don't love the movie, but it's a really great film. The book is one of the worst I have ever read in my life.
  10. I'm reading Misery at the moment. I have had it on my shelf for probably 8 years or so, and thought I had finally better get around to it! So far, I am really enjoying it.
  11. Finished The Time Traveler's Wife, and highly recommend it. Fab book - I gave it 5 out of 5. Going to start Misery by Stephen King next. I must have had this book for the best part of 10 years, and still haven't read it. It sits there on my shelf making me feel guilty, so it's about time I read it!
  12. Hi Diana - welcome to our very friendly forum:) I'm 17 pages from the end of The Time Traveler's Wife - have absolutely loved it and will be sad to finish it. I think I'm going to read On Beauty by Zadie Smith next - but as I won't decide until I get home tonight, that could all change!
  13. I agree with what you wrote in your blog There were circular images and objects all over the place. Despite this, I still didn't draw anything like a set of concentric circles:lol:
  14. I thought Rav's second dance was better than Martina's second dance, and that he deserved to stay (although I may be biased;)). Really though, neither of them should have been in the bottom two - surely it should have been Joe and Lynda.
  15. Absolutely loving it! I would definitely recommend this to anyone - I'm only halfway through, so there's chance for it to all go pear-shaped, but I don't think it will!
  16. Last Dvd I watched was The Shield, season 2. Addictive programme!
  17. I watched it - wasn't stuck to my seat though, and neither was hubby. I don't think I was really open to the idea that I would be, which may have made a difference. I actually thought the other parts of the show were better - the bits in the toy shop and the shopping centre.
  18. I love to travel. I always take a couple of books with me on holiday, but I am not a beachy type person - I'd much rather be off sightseeing, so I don't actually tend to read that much when I'm away. Maybe a few pages in bed. But when I get back, I find myself wanting to read more about the places that I've seen.
  19. No, not at all. I just think he's really yummy!!
  20. Never watched an episode in my life, but we had a friend over on Saturday who wanted to watch it. Rav Wilding is in it!! Suddenly, I'm interested:) Got to say though, I don't think much of Alesha Dixon as a judge - she's a nice girl, but clearly doesn't really know what she's talking about (and I don't even have Arlene to compare her to, since I never watched it when Arlene was in).
  21. I'm in Chicago, but timewise I'm all over the place. Reading (and loving) The Time Traveler's Wife
  22. No, I've read the first three (several times)! and have the rest on my tbr. They're really quick reads, so I hope to finish the series by the end of this year:)
  23. Hi Kelly - welcome to the very friendly forum
  24. I've only just started it, so it's difficult to tell, but I definitely have good feelings about it. You know when you start a book, and from very early on you just know you're going to enjoy it? That's what I feel about this one.
  25. Finished The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole. I have read these books before, and always enjoy them. About to start The Time Traveler's Wife - I feel like I am the only person in the world who hasn't read it yet!
