  1. Magic stuff Inver! Your boys deserve something for surviving this gruelling season - it takes character to keep turning out when things aren't going your way!

I'll do a deal - if they win their cup, we'll win ours.

  2. Let's hope your U16s and our first team make it a Cup Double this weekend. Our opponents on Sunday are playing for the league title as I type. I wish them well today, but hope they tire themselves out!

  3. We finished our league season last night with a 2-2 draw to give us the best unbeaten run of the season. :D  If only it had been 3-3, we would have hit 100 league goals!

  4. Clown shoes were distributed to the whole team today as they managed a 4-4 draw against our relegation-struggling opponents. Our performance included a  beautiful back-pass to a 'keeper who wasn't there, resulting in our second own goal in two games.  Still, our unbeaten run remains intact and our opponents are staying up, so everybody's happy!

  5. Thanks Inver. Both sets of defenders brought their clown shoes today, but we came out on top in a 5-3 win! 10 games unbeaten feels good!

  6. We've got three league games left over the next five days, starting with a home game against 3rd placed Ivybridge Town this afternoon. We're on a nine game unbeaten run, so it would be nice to take it to the end of the season before next Sunday's Cup Final!

  7. We've just beaten our local rivals 1-0 to complete the a treble in league and cup over them this season! Still finding it difficult to drag ourselves up from 9th though.

  8. Oof! 12-2 is a scoreline we've been on the wrong end of and it's not a great feeling! Still at least they have something to play for at this late stage. Wishing them luck!

We started slowly, going 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes of the worst rain I've seen for years. Then the sun came out and we won 3-2!

Not the most detailed match report ever, but it gives you the general overview of the game. :D

  9. That's a fantastic illustration of the glamour of football! :D

We're at home to Witheridge tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the customary guard of honour from our opponents as the boys enter the field with the Cup. We may well take a bit of a beating afterwards though!

  10. Since we lifted the Cornwall Senior Cup in 2009, Bodmin Town have won it every year since. I always said they were just borrowing it from us, and this afternoon we took it back! The full time score was 1-1, but we managed to beat them 5-4 on penalties! I'm a happy man! :D

  11. Sounds like things are on the up for you Inver!

Yep, we're in the Cup Final on Monday.  We warmed up with a 3-2 win over our local rivals on Friday.

We also have many injury worries as well as being up against the league champions who have won the cup for the last 4 years. My prediction - if we go for an all-out attack, we'll win 5-3. If we try to defend, we'll lose 3-1. :D

  12. There's no rest down here, but I'm pleased with our 1-0 victory yesterday. We picked up two more injuries though. Hopefully everybody will have recovered by next Monday!

  13. Way to go Raith!

We've got three games in the next seven days in the lead up to Easter Monday's Cup Final. Niggling injuries are already starting to appear in several key players, so I'm expecting our Reserves to see a bit of action this week!

  14. The second half was encouraging, although we now have the constant fear of losing players to injury before the Cup Final. This match featured a weakened side, even though we were playing the league champions!

  15. We were at home to Bodmin Town this evening. They're the league champions and cup winners for the last 4 years and will also be our opponents in this year's cup final. We put out a slightly weakened side because we seem terrified of picking up injuries. They were all over us in the first half, but we improved after the break. In the last 10 minutes they went to pieces and we marched gloriously to a 2-1 defeat.  Bodmin were the angriest winners I've ever seen!

  16. Swings and roundabouts!

We managed a 4-0 win today, but the boys still got a half time rollocking for lazy play (our opponents had a very poor day)!  We've got a Cup Final on Easter Monday, so we really need to pick up the pace.

  17. Thanks Inver!  We'll be up against Bodmin Town, the league champions and cup holders for the past 4 years.  We met them in the 2011 Final and led 2-0 until the last 20 minutes.  Then they took over and managed a 3-2 win. Time to put things right! :D

  18. I've just got back from tonight's Semi-Final and am pleased to report that we'll be appearing in the Cornwall Senior Cup Final on Easter Monday! It finished 3-1 over our local rivals. Football really is the Beautiful Game! :doowapstart:

  19. I reckon Glendale will go on a charge now Inver - good stuff!

We dropped 2 points thanks to conceding an injury time equaliser yesterday.  Some of the lads seemed a but tentative.  I think they were afraid of picking up an injury before Tuesday's huge Cup Semi-Final.
