It's probably not much consolation for you, but the other Lilywhites have finally been promoted to the South West Peninsula League Premier Division. Back where we belong!

Our striker got home at 3am after being treated for soft tissue and minor nerve damage to his back, but at least he's up and about - relief all round! We're getting over the disappointment of last night. All that remains to complete our season now is the league's promotion/relegation announcment later tonight - I've got no fingernails left!

Not a great night. We started off being presented with the league runners-up trophy, but then took part in a very poor final. We had 2 players sent off and one taken away in an ambulance. I'm not sure exactly what the injury was, but heard that there may be spinal damage. Final score - Newquay 2 St Austell 0. We're less worried about the match than our striker's wellbeing.

Bad luck for Andy & Glendale Inver. How many are in their league? Our Cup Final is tomorrow night against arch-rivals Newquay. We've got the division's runners-up trophy, so another one for the cabinet would look great! Promotions/relegations will be announced after the league's AGM on Thursday - exciting times!

Perranporth have beaten Plymstock United and have been crowned divisional champions. Slightly disappointing, but it's been inevitable for quite some time. Still, we've improved on last year's 3rd place finish and we have a cup final next week. We also have to wait to hear which of the two teams will be promoted - it looks pretty good for us!

I'll start bracing myself now in case Cardiff win the play-offs! Perranporth play today and look likely to clinch the title. We'll still top the division for the next 7 hours though!

The mighty St Austell signed off their season yesterday with a weary 1-0 defeat against Dobwall ( a team we just can't seem to beat!). We're still top, but Perranporth managed to win and are now 2 points behind with 3 games to play. It doesn't look good for the title, but miracles can happen! The league won't be confirming any promotions now until 13th May - the agony! On the plus side, our 2nd team have just won their 3rd successive championship and have been promoted to the dizzy heights of the Duchy League Division 3! Who needs the Premier League?!
  14. Hi pipread! I looked at a few writing courses, and the Writers' Bureau do seem to offer the most comprehensive coverage. It's a home-study course, with no real time limit, so I can study at my convenience. I'll let you know how I get on.

St Austell complete their season this afternoon with a trip to Dobwalls. All we can do is try to win and put oursevles in the best position if Perranporth slip up! Blackpool aren't popular down here - we have large numbers of depressed Plymouth Argyle fans just praying for Ian Holloway to come a cropper!

Thanks madcow & Inver! There's just a nagging doubt. Both the league and Perranporth are remaining tight-lipped over their ground inspection findings, so the next week will be almost unbearable! I suppose the only way to get round that is by winning the division - easy!

St Austell have just beaten Hayle 1-0 to ensure a top 2 finish! According to the league's rules, our only remaining title rivals don't meet the ground criteria for the Premier Division, so I think we've just been promoted!

Bad luck for Andy Inver. Still, at least it was and the end of the season rather than the beginning. St Austell played poorly in the first have, trailing 1-0 at half-time. Fortunately in the second half they seemed to switch on and finally played like a team at the top, cruising to a 3-1 win. Unfortunately both our rivals also managed to win. We're in a strange situation at the moment. We're 5 points clear at the top with 2 games to go, but very little chance of winning the title. 2nd placed Perranporth have 3 games in hand and are almost certain to take the championship. Sadly for them, their ground has failed the promotion inspection, so whoever finishes second will go up. That'll either be us or Hayle (7 points behind in 3rd with a game in hand over us). To make things even more thrilling, we travel to Hayle next Wednesday. A point from that game will see us promoted! Are you confused yet?
