It was an excellent afternoon's work by the Lilywhites Inver! Although we made heavy work of a 2-0 victory, the weather was great - it was more like July than February! Must have been the hottest day since last August! The semi-final line-up now consists of the top 4 clubs in Cornwall, so we'll need to be on top form to reach another final.

I know how you feel Inver - mid-November to mid-December was a bit of a write off for us! At the weekend we played Witheridge who were 18th in the table. They hadn't won in 8 games and we were unbeaten in 8. Can you guess what happened? Yep - they scored the winner in the 89th minute! I think we were more focussed on next Saturday's cup quarter final (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!).

St Austell's match against Camelford finally went ahead yesterday and we came away with a 3-0 win! We've now got a home tie in the quarter finals - it's looking good. I've just heard that Plymouth Argyle have been all but saved from their winding-up order. It's good news for them, and nobody likes to see a club go to the wall, but Argyle aren't good for Cornish football. Rather than following their home club, hundreds of Cornish football fans keep crossing the Tamar to Home Park.

Hi Inver! Spookily today is the first time I've been on here for a while! Glad to here things are going well for Andy. The mighty St Austell are enjoying their first season in the Premier Division and are currently loving the dizzy heights of 8th position! We're trying to play a Cornwall Senior Cup match against Camelford at the moment but it's been frozen off for the last 2 weeks - fingers crossed for next Saturday!

We should be fine down here - the last flake of snow we had was in February!

Hi Roland! Haven't been able to get on here as much as I like, but my health is slowly improving, so you may be seeing more of me! As for 2026, I think a 90,000 capacity stadium for St Austell would be awesome. The current ground is a bit squashed in though, so we might have to demolish a few dozen houses and the local secondary school, but I don't see a problem!

The English football authorities seem to be hell bent on ensuring that England never get to host a World Cup. Their complaints may or may not be valid, but the way they've gone about it would certainly look like sour grapes around the world. If they push it too far, it won't do them any favours for any future bid.

Hi Mac. Yep, all's well. Bit damp though - have you seen the Great St Austell Floods on the news?

Well done to Andy - sounds like we could use him down here! We're at home to Plymouth Parkway this afternoon. I think we'll get our revenge for the 7-2 drubbing, by only losing 4-1! Update at 17:40 - St Austell 2 Plymouth Parkway 2. We played Parkway off the field right up until their injury time equalizer!
  10. Hi Inver - awesome news for Andy! If he doesn't mind a small commute every Saturday, I'm sure we could find a place for him at Poltair Park!

Plymouth Parkway 7 St Austell 2. My hands are still numb as I type this. Will the sun ever shine on me again? Still, you've got to laugh haven't you?
  12. I've just finished the book and was quietly impressed. As for the ending, it was better than I'd hoped. Although not quite to the standard of his earlier endings, it was definitely an improvement on recent works. If you were disappointed by the finale of Cell, don't worry - Under The Dome is much more satisfying!
  13. I had to quit the committee a while ago for health reasons, but I'm still on the sidelines for every match and do odd bits & pieces to help out. Our fanbase is increasing nicely - I'm no longer the only supporter under 65!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes Echo!

  15. Thanks for the Birthday wishes Inver. I celebrated by watching St Austell lose to the Royal Marines - oops!

  16. Hi Inver. I've been otherwise engaged lately, but hopefully I'll start to squeeze back into the forum more regularly soon!

  17. Thanks for the Birthday wishes rach. It was a great day - I'll have to have another one next year!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes Mac! It's been an awesome weekend - I even persuaded Mrs Sedge (an avowed loather of sport) to come to the football match yesterday!

  19. Hi Janet, thanks for the Birthday wishes! I've just turned 36 but I think I can still pass for 35!

  20. Thanks for the Birthday wishes Charm! It's a sunny Saturday down here and I'm off to the football this afternoon - perfect!

  21. Thanks for the Birthday wishes Roland! I haven't been on here as often as I'd like lately, but I'll still be around. The mighty St Austell are currently enjoying life in the Premier Division. We've had mixed results, but we're having a good time!

Good Morrow Mac! I'm not getting on here as much as I like, but I'm still poking my head around the door occasionally!

I'm just quietly doing my thing and enjoying life - how's you?

  23. Sounds like it was a good game Inver! We had a slight hiccup in a friendly against a team two leagues below us - 5-0!

  24. Hi Inver, welcome back! I've been offline for a day or two as well - how are you doing?

    World Cup 2010

I found Spain quite disappointing through most of the tournament - too many 1-0 wins. Taking every team at their best, I feel that Germany had the most to be proud of. If only the final was played like the 3rd place play-off!
