  1. It was unfortunate that Fiona Bruce reported this from in front of Buckingham Palace just as the waving crowd behind her erupted into cheers. Maybe they could have had somebody back at the studio reading the headlines?

Fingers crossed for the U13s Inver, sounds like they've really done themselves proud! Austell were at home to Saltash, one of Cornwall's top teams this evening and bounced back to destroy them 4-2! If we can keep this team together, we could be pushing for the title next season. All of a sudden I feel much better!

Plenty of noise from the Austell Army saw us take a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes! We held onto that scoreline until the 80th minute when Bodmin scored twice in quick succession. They finished off with the winner on 85 minutes after which we had 3 penalty appeals turned down! Their winning goal was clearly offside, but we shouldn't have put ourselves in a position where they could score the winner - we got a bit complacent and paid the price! Our star player went off with a broken nose in the 2nd half and we weren't quite the same after that. Still, as the team went to collect their losers medals, the ground shook with the wave of sound from the Lilywhites' fans - we'll be back next year! Back to league action tomorrow and we're still chasing 6th place. Overall it's been a fantastic season!

This is the time of the season when injuries really start to bite, but fortunately we're all fit and raring to go for 4:30. We'll be in Hayle, so if you listen very carefully you should be able to hear the roar as we lift the Cup at 6:30!

Well done to the boys! It's great to be near the end of April and still have something to play for isn't it?

We got on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat, but the lads who played don't usually get a game, so they loved it! Our usual 1st team watched the game from just in fron of the clubhouse, so as long as they didn't get injured lifting too many heavy pints, we're looking good for Monday!

That's why all our top players will be lounging by the touchline this morning enjoying the spectacle. This could be hilarious!

Going in the right direction Inver - I'm sure it'll be the great escape! We travel to our deadly local rivals tomorrow for our first derby game in 4 years and we're fielding 3 first team players and a mixture of reserves and veterans! That's what you call confidence!

Well done to the Under 13s! It's a great feeling when everything in a match comes together properly!

At least the injury came towards the end of the season, so he should have plenty time to recover. Fingers crossed for him. We had another great win yesterday, this time 5-1 away. We're warming up nicely for the Cup Final on Easter Monday!

Ouch - looks like the club are having a rough season! Never mind, hopefully they can bounce back next season. We're off to one of the relegation strugglers this afternoon in our bid for a top 6 place.

Excellent stuff (apart from the injury)! Where are they in the table now?

Hope Glendale's fortunes change Inver! Another good win yesterday against our mid-table rivals. Although I feared the worst when our new 'keeper on his debut got sent off after 30 minutes for handling outside the area, we went into overdrive and managed a 5-2 victory! A top 6 finish may be possible this season!

We've had days like that! Fortunately not on Wednesday - a 6-2 win over one of the relegation strugglers has put us back on track.

We had a narrow 2-1 defeat against one of the league's high-fliers yesterday and acquitted ourselves well. Better news - our Cup Final opponents had their keeper sent off and his one match ban comes into force on.......Cup Final day! How did it go for Glendale Inver?

That's excellent news for Andy! Smiles all round yesterday - we were at home to the bottom club and managed to beat them 7-0! That's our biggest win for 7 years!

It's great to hear that the youngsters are playing the game in such a good spirit. Top class football isn't exactly a great advert for the Respect campaign, but there seems to be hope for the future of the game judging by what you say!

Ouch for the goalie! Hope he'll be OK. Good luck to the Under 13s as well. It's amazing how a disappointing league season can be soothed by a good cup run - I've been there!

Always stick with a winning tactic! We've got a weekend off Inver - any football for Glendale?

Thanks Ben. Inver - We arrived at the match with 7 injured players and no goalkeeper. Evidently Saltash didn't realise that we had a defender between the posts because they played the entire game with just one forward! The final score was 3-1, so I think we got out of jail there!

Thanks Inver. We played in the league on Saturday, 2 days after the semi-final, had 2 players sent off and lost 2-1 to one of the lower ranking teams - it's a funny old game!

Here you go Sue - St Austell have just beaten Saltash United to reach their second Cornwall Senior Cup Final in 3 years! I know that the news you've been on tenterhooks for!

So close! We levelled the scores after being 2-0 down, but then conceded the winner in injury time (again!). Not the result we wanted, but in every other respect, I was very pleased! We're still the last team to beat the champs though. It's the cup semi-final on Thursday - fingers crossed. Hope you have better luck next weekend Inver.

Good stuff Inver! We didn't have a scheduled game yesterday which is just as well because on Friday night we had rain of biblical proportions! Anyway it was a good chance to rest before next week's away trip to the league champions and current leaders!
