Great to hear, Tim. They really do get better as they go along, so hopefully you'll enjoy the next four books even more. They're such quick reads though, and so much shorter than many YA reads these days. The first three books combined are probably still shorter than Divergent!

Ben-Hur. I much prefer to watch The Ten Commandments at Easter, but I guess the TV programmers got sick of scheduling that year after year. Oh well, one Chuck Heston biblical epic is just as good as the next, I guess!

I loved it too, Karsa. I was literally on the edge of my seat for a large part of it. I started watching Talking Dead this season or last. I don't really have anyone to talk to about the show, so TD fills that nerd gap for me.

Great progress in your goals, Noll. I'm particularly impressed that you've managed to keep up with all of those reviews! I'm looking forward to seeing what the next quarter brings for you.

I finished Jon Ronson's The Men Who Stare at Goats. Crazy stuff. I have one book on the go from my book jar and I still have another to start, but I couldn't resist choosing yet another from the jar. It's Haruki Murakami's Underground, in which he interviews people involved in the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in 1995. I'm a few chapters in and it's really interesting.

I watched it too, Chesil. YAY! I thought it would be a very difficult game given NZ's unbroken winning streak. I'm glad Clarke got to go out on a win. It capped off a brilliant summer for Australia after the tragedy of losing Philip Hughes.

The Anastasia covers are so terribly hideous. I have the same type of covers. I really hope they republish them with nicer covers one day. The books deserve it! I used to have huge glasses in the late 90s. Whenever my mum now sees a photo of me from that time she apologises for putting me in those glasses.

We have to turn our clocks back for the end of daylight saving on Easter Sunday. Does that mean I get to stuff my face with chocolate for an extra hour? (Probably not. I'll be at Mum's place and I'm sure she'll be trying to ration my chocolate so I don't go overboard. )

Definitely not the best Pegg/Frost offering, but I enjoyed it enough to have watched it a couple of times. The ending is a little odd though. Yes indeed!

Gosh, I feel for you. I can work without my glasses, but I still feel totally lost if I misplace them. And all I can think as I look for them is 'searching for my glasses would be so much easier if I had my glasses on'.

Then you probably know that I'm a very happy chappy right now! It should be a good game against New Zealand on Sunday! Can't wait. NZ beat us in an earlier round (our only loss) so hopefully that'll put the wind up the Aussies to fight even harder this weekend.

I loved Birdman, Peacefield. My friend hated the ending, but I loved it. Definitely one to digest...and then watch again.

I still haven't decided whether I want to pre-order this or whether I can wait until it comes out in paperback. I have to say, though, I much prefer the US cover (which is also in the link that Chesil posted above).

I was always too scared to watch the X-Files as a kid. I have all of the episodes to watch now, but I haven't started yet. I did see one of the movies at the cinema with a friend (I knew the basic plot of the series, so I was able to follow along). Looks like I'd better get a move on!

Don't listen to them, Athena! All of the original Sherlock Holmes stories are amazing! I can't believe Tim and Signor's blasphemous comments. I need to go and lie down for a while...
