I only read the last two HP books. I'm a bit dubious about reading the others now as I love the films. I tried the first book years ago and couldn't get on with it. I agree her writing leaves a lot to be desired but I think her story-telling and imagination are great. Happy reading in 2015 Noll

Haha thanks Steve!
-
Thanks both Haha I sometimes think I enjoy organising my book list more than actually reading from it Well I finished Gone Girl and really enjoyed it. I wasn't overly keen on the ending though.
-
I've just started watching this too. I had the box set for Christmas and have just got season one under my belt. It's awesome!!
-
So I'm about 90% the way through Gone Girl and it's so gripping! I'm hoping to finish it tonight then probably move on to Robin Hobb's The Golden Fool. Happy reading in 2015 everyone

Hmm struggling with The Trial (audiobook). I really enjoyed Metamorphosis but this - well - it's in a league of it's own for strangeness. But it's all so strange that I'm losing interest because I just don't get what the hell is going on. Gone Girl is going well on the other hand.
-
Oh it's awful waiting to hear if you've got something you really want isn't it? I hope it all goes swiftly and smoothly for you. Keeping my fingers crossed.
-
Well instead of The Golden Fool I made an impulse buy with my birthday vouchers of Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl and started reading it last night. I like what I've read so far.
-
Oh dear no not the best memory haha. Thanks Gaia

How exciting June! That sounds like a great decision. Keep us posted.

I finished The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and enjoyed it thoroughly again as I knew I would. I might have a little break from Narnia and go for Robin Hobb's The Golden Fool next. I also started listening Kafka's The Trial on audio the other day and so far it's very good.

Great to see you back on the forum Julie Sorry you've had such a stressful time of late x
-
Gosh sounds like there has been a lot going on for you at the moment. Sorry to hear about your health issues. That must suck But great news about being asked to be matron of honour (even in the circumstances) I hope you have a fantastic time when it comes round!
-
Calexa it's not for you to question why. He obviously sees and likes something in you. Our view of ourselves is very often different to what others see in us. Good luck if you do go. I hope you have a lovely time. And be confident. (Just keep telling yourself you're awesome - which I am sure you are!!)

Finished The Magician's Nephew and loved it. Just the job. I've always maintained that this was my favourite Narnia story and I was pondering this as I read it. I don't think the story is as good as The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe but it has some great scenes. Also TLTWATW does suffer from a bit of over-familiarity (even though it's awesome) I have now acquired Robin Hobb's The Golden Fool and I'm in a dilemma whether to read that next, or TLTWATW, or go for something from my TBR. I think it'll be TLTWATW though.

How lovely that you got your Robin Hobbs signed! I'm a huge fan of hers. Sorry that you couldn't go yourself but awesome that you got the signatures!

Thanks Bronwyn.
