  1. Well it's only the second episode that will be missing. If you read the story it was the only one that they could skip without affecting the overall storyline and it will be shown when the series is repeated. I enjoyed it. I will be watching more. (Good to see Anna Friel doing well too, go the brits!!)
  2. Fear Nothing - Dean Koontz Finished Fear Nothing last night. Very enjoyable if a little far-fetched. I don't normally read thrillers (I have tried John Grisham and wasn't taken) but I think I have discovered a new genre and a new author that I will be reading a lot more of in the future. As I said this was an outlandish story line and I was going along with it, happily suspending belief, until That made me roll my eyes and laugh. The quality of writing was very good though. 8/10. Next Shakespeare, Bill Bryson.
  3. It's made with the Coleman's sachet. Next time I'll give you a shout
  4. Sausage casserole. It was yummy but now I can't move
  5. Aw bless you KirstyKat. It's big of you to apologize. I am sure everyone here appreciates it too.
  6. A salmon sandwich with some watercress.
  7. Oh good I like short books. Thanks for that. I will definitely be adding it to the wish list.
  8. Isn't that statement contradictory?
  9. chicken soup and a roll
  10. Hi David. Nice to meet you. Another Scot, wow, this place is full of them. Where are all the Welsh? I joined this place just as I was getting back into reading and I am certainly reading a lot more these days than I used to. As for recommendations, you'll be drowning in them soon (Hope that doesn't put you off) Look forward to chatting with you
  11. I think their mass appeal comes down to: Being very readable and accessible Being very imaginitive (sp) Being very well plotted Full og likeable characters They are not literary masterpieces but they are cracking stories and very light and escapist.
  12. How long are you cooking it for? What temperature? Is there plenty of white sauce on top?
  13. They both sound good Kylie. I've been meaning to try some Grahame Greene so this is one to add to the wish list. Did they come as a single book?
  14. Hehe thank you
  15. Fear nothing is a great read. It's totally gripping from the outset, a classic thriller. But I also really like the central character and the writing is pretty good too. So far so good
  16. Ready made ravioli with a stir in sauce. (Well it's gym night and Asda shopping night )
  17. You can always use spoiler tags. Just highlight the offending text and click the big yellow "S"
  18. Oh I didn't spot, This Book will Save your Life. I enjoyed it. Would be intrigued to see how it translates.
  19. Its slightly reminiscent of LineLand in Edwin Abbott's Flatland. However I don't remember the biscuit breaks so it's probably not that.
  20. I read this last year and totally loved it. The only problem was that I took it on holiday and read it on the beach but didn't find it light enough for a beach read. But that was my fault. I'm taking Bridget Jones, or Dean Koontz on holiday this year. Anyway, really hope you enjoy it. I love DDM!!
  21. That does sound like a gem HandD. I would love to know of a shop like that. Although my TBR is already out of control. Being able to sell books back is a bonus though.
  22. Wow. I can't imagine eating anything like that, you must have adventurous taste buds
  23. Wow that sounds adventurous. I had pub lunch today I had the antipasto plate: salami, parma ham, parmesan, olives, capers, ciabatta and mixed salad. It was yumptious too!
  24. Spag bol (Well fussilli bol to be precise) probably with a green salad on the side.
  25. It sounds really interesting. I'd like to give it a try.
