Apart from a few poems we had to memorize at school, I don't usually try to. But I had the most boring job one time which involved dipping copper wires into a solder pot all day. The lead fumes were probably going to my head so that might explain why I decided to learn AA Milne's Forgiven:The Alexander Beetle Poem, to wile the hours away.
I found a little beetle; so that Beetle was his name,
And I called him Alexander and he answered just the same.
I put him in a match-box, and I kept him all the day ...
And Nanny let my beetle out -
Yes, Nanny let my beetle out -
She went and let my beetle out -
And Beetle ran away.

When I was a kid I lived in a very small town, population maybe less than a thousand. The circus came to town and people would come from surrounding small towns to see it. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old and went to the circus to see them set up. One of the workers asked me to go to town and buy him some cherries and gave me the money. I walked across the bridge and went to the "Company Store", a coal mining town, and bought the cherries. On the way back I thought I would eat one of the cherries. Well, I ate one and then another and then another and by the time I got back to the circus I ate probably about 3/4 of the bag. The circus guy looked at the bag and swore at me. I can remember it clear as can be.
Your life of crime started early then?

Muggle, I'm sorry to hear about your wife's BIL. You can be sure everyone understands why y'all cannot attend the funeral. No one wants an accident, and driving in a snow storm in the mountains has to rank as one of the most dangerous undertakings around. I read about all the snow coming across the country. We are even getting freezing weather down here, no snow yet though!
The family will know they are in your thoughts and prayers, and that certainly counts.
Exactly.
Last week we attended a performance of Cirque Chinois, a fantastic circus troop that is on the lines of Cirque du Soleil. Gorgeous costumes, colors, and amazing acts.I've always wanted to go to one of the live Cirque shows. I've never been a great fan of circus's but theirs look absolutely fantastic. The costumes and acts look simply stunning.

I'm reading this on my Kindle at the moment, unfortunately I'd already bought it before it came out on special. Never mind, it's worth the full price. Very funny book, I'll add to the recommendations.

Really want to see that one.
Saw The Hobbit yesterday in 3D. I loved it. Martin Freeman is fantastic as Bilbo Baggins, the dwalves are wonderful and the wizard Radagast the Brown stole the show for me.
Could have done with an intermission, I was feeling a bit wriggly and it would have been good to stretch your legs and uncross your eyes during such a long film. But I managed to sustain myself by eating two packets of Jaffas (and didn't drop a single one)
