I drive a 1986 Honda Prelude, which still goes well and suits me just fine. My favourite car that I've owned was a 1955 Austin A30 (like Wallace and Gromit's only theirs was a van) She was purple and I named her Agapanthus. She had no hand-brake for a long time and questionable foot brakes. Going on any journey was always an adventure, you were bound to break down somewhere along the way.
What I'd really like to own is an old MG. Either of these would do

('Love Over Gold' has a lightening strike on the cover. You may be thinking of the album 'Alchemy' which has a rather wonderful surreal art cover. I just looked up all their albums and realise I'm not at all familiar with their second one 'Communique'. Sorry not quite with you on the double concept album?)

(a lot of the later albums are compilations of their best songs. Have you listened to the 'Love Over Gold' album? It has 'Telegraph Road 'and probably my favourite 'Private Investigations.' I think his guitar playing in this is exquisite. Mark Knopfler still writes and sings solo but he has become mostly a little too country for me now)
