  1. It is a positive thought in an odd sort of way I often think about death. The one inevitable fact is that we are all dying. We treat death like a faery tale in a maybe land far away and distant. Maybe it's waiting for us when we are old, but then again maybe it's a car crash next Wednesday, maybe it's a heart attack, or a murder, or one of a million stupid impossible things that kill people every day. Ah, but it only happens to other people we see on the news or read about sadly in papers, but that isn't true. When you accept death is real and it's breathing down your neck and the clock is tick ticking... I think that's more positive and you try to life life as best you can rather than not thinking about death at all. You see what I mean? One of my fave quotes is "life every day as if it's your last - because some day it will be" SO... READ the the book! lol
  2. WOW, no way could I choose!!! I have enough trouble trying to choose what I am going to read next as it is. In the dictionary under "caprecious" is a picture of me. WAY too hard to choose. Don't know what I would do. PLEASE read it!!! Life is too short, you could be dead tomrrow! It's several kinds of wonderful! Read it
  3. Ah yeah, see that's another worry! Thanks :-p lol What happens to the books after you die? I'm sure all us book lovers would want our books to go to a nice home where they would be appreciated.
  4. Depends on what book it is, but mostly yes. I think that most readers would feel the same way that you do
  5. I was reading a blog entry and came across something that I sometimes think about. This person was saying they have this huge "to be read" pile and would really hate do die and have all t hose books unread. Is that something that would bother you? It's something I have considered from time to time. I think it would bother me to leave those books that I have unread. I know, in the great scheme of things that it's not really that important, but it would bother me.
  6. I never use a bookmark and just remember where I am. It might take a quick flip back and forth, but it only takes a few seconds. I have never used a bookmark. Although, I really like the idea of bookmarks I never use them. Maybe I don't use bookmarks because I know, me being me, that I will loose them. Maybe because I can't be bothered with them. Maybe it's because I'm a londoner! Who knows? It's a mystery. I might buy a bookmark and try it out some time... Ah, and this made me laugh LOL
  7. There are so many factors involved in my picking a new book. I love bookshops and everything they mean. It's wonderful to wander slowly through the book shop waiting for a book to jump out at you and surprise you. Normally it's the cover or the name that makes me pick up the book and read the back cover to see if I like it! Sometimes I just randomly choose a book and read the back cover. I think that most of my reading picks are down to serendipity. Other factors include and are not limited to: new works by favourite authors, recommendations by friends, reading reviews, seeing books mentioned on a forum such as this, browsing book web sites such as Amazon, listamania on Amazon, and books as presents.
  8. Hello and welcome! I like your avatar, it's lovely.

  11. Hi there and welcome to the forum! What kind of photography do you like to shoot? Do you have a site showcasing your work, I would like to see. You can have a look at my work by clicking on my sig. Inventer! That sounds interesting. What sorts of things do you invent?
  12. Thanks for the tips! I have seen some recipes that call for buttermilk, what do you think of that? I think the maple syrup is pure... that's what is says on the bottle at least lol Oh yeah! I'm serious about my coffee! ALWAYS gotta have coffee! I buy mine from www.hasbean.co.uk who I recommend very highly! They roast and grind the coffee fresh to order. At the moment I have a wonderful South American coffee and an Indian coffee. That sounds like wonderful moments, just my kind of thing!
  13. The name sounds familair becauase I am famous! Well... OK, more like infamous ;-) Good to know you! Thanks for the welcome! Thank you! :-) HEY! Leave the terrible jokes to me :-p lol Good to be back, and nice to be posting with you again! :-)

  15. I'm terrible, and I just can't walk into a bookshop empty handed! There is ALWAYS something there that I will want. There is probably an equation for the amount of time spent in any bookstore equalling the amount of books I will probably leave with! I tell myself lies. I say, "just have a look around! Yes! Go on! You don't HAVE to buy anything!" Of course, this is a pack of lies and deep in my nefarious book reading heart I know that I will certainly, every time, leave with at least one book! How about you? Can you enter and leave again without some pappery goodness?!
