  1. I have some serious allergies. I am pretty sure that I got them from a blood transfusion during surgery. There are 4 items that "I know" I am allergic to. Benzoine: I break out in a severe rash and blisters. silk tape: same thing There are 2 other things, both common, I am allergic to but I will not post them. I have been advised by the head of dermatology at Georgetown University Hospital that both would likely be fatal. My personal doctor concurs with the evaluation. Both items on separate occasions almost were fatal to me........I really have to treat my wife very nice.
  2. Zucchini Lasagna......with a bottle of Andamena pinot Noir
  3. The Cranesbill Geranium.......isn't that the wildflower that grows in the land of Xena and Gabrielle.
  4. Thank you. in early / mid spring the tree has a wonderful scent with a fragrance that is throughout the yard. Which reminds me, talking about fragrance, does anyone have lilac bushes planted. I bought 2 and planted them and i also have a small one started from my an old, old, lilac. maureen, now why would you be green with envy, I think you are pulling my leg.
  5. poppy, yes I do love them but don't have any planted yet. I will have to do some more shopping around at the nursery. Last weekend I bought a Fringe tree, which happens to be one of my favorite trees, but they are expensive. Anyhow, there is a little story to go with my purchase, later. Click here for a photo of a fringe Tree. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/1356508563044373436giMbil The secret to most gardens whether it be vegetable or flowers is having good soil preparation. My vegetable garden is starting to show a little promise. I have a few wee bitty tomatoes on a couple of mt plants and a bell pepper that is starting to approach pickin' time.
  6. Does anyone like Coral Bells. I love them and so do the Hummingbirds. Here are a few photos of my Coral Bells. This Coral Bell is called Peach Melba. The photo doesn't do it justice. We only planted this Bleeding heart last year and it has grown like crazy. It was loaded with flowers and in this photo is taking a breather between flowering full again.
  7. LOL, LOL, LOL
  8. You did it again as I had to go and look to see what it was: Using first principles, a ftira is an oven-baked bun-shaped bread whose diameter can vary between 5 to 15 cm. It has a thick dark crust and a deliciously soft white centre which Maltese call the qalba, i.e. the heart. In a Gozitan ftira although the dough is similar and is baked in the same manner, the shape is flattened, has an approximately 7cm diameter and is topped with fish, vegetables or both. No mozzarella is used, however, the recipe uses quite a fair amount of olive oil.
  9. Yes, I agree she told a very good story and told it well. There are not many books that both kids and adults read AND enjoy.
  10. If you had to choose?
  11. With a bottle of Trivento Shiraz.
  12. halibut, rice, fresh asparagus with a little parmigiana cheese melted on it, and a bottle of Columbia Estate Pinot Grigio and rice pudding for dessert/
  13. It looks like it would be a good meal. However, I don't believe it is a meal for wine as an accompanient. Wife and I frequently have an entire meal of soup, usually vegetable or bean. My wife uses pasta in the vegetable soup.
  14. You did it again, made me "google" to see what you had for dinner.
  15. The last episode of "Six Feet Under" was one of the most brilliant shows that I have seen on TV.
  16. ham, cabbage, and potatoes....leftovers
  17. Turkey? Turkey? And here I thought you likde to "nibble on a muggle" .
  18. Well!!!! if you lived in the U.S. you could also eat it on Thanksgiving.
  19. Yes gyre, I watched a few episodes but wasn't too thrilled with the show. I much prefer Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy.
  20. The new episodes will start in the U.S. on April 13th. I would think that the first new episode would feature a lot of "bringing the viewers up to date". There are always so many surprises in the show that you never know what to expect. In the new episode Gabrielle supposedly tells her priest a shocking secret.
  21. OK, my lips are sealed.........hehe. The writers strike is settled and new episodes will start soon.
  22. Ibelieve that you all are still a number of episodes behind the U.S. Have you seen the episode with the tornado and the episode after the tronado.
  23. Singing in The Rain is my favorite. Gene Kelly's scene with the umbrella is one of the all time greats.
  24. Its gotta be a repeat.
  25. She is a vegetarian though and may find it difficult for meals in all those Countries.
