  10. Wife has pork in the crockpot and will make pork BBQ. Tonight we will have BBQ sandwiches with coleslaw.
  11. wordsgood - I wish you the best. Specialists can do wonders sometimes. Hopefully your problems will get resolved and you live a long and healthy life. Re - my retirement. I received a preformance review this week. On a scale of 1 - 9, I received an 8. I was also asked that after my retirement from full time (40 hours week) if my decision to work only 18 hours a week until the end of the year was firm or would I be willing to exceed those hours at times. Thinking!!!
  12. "Me And Bobby McGhee" - Original sung by Roger Miller. Cover sung by Janis Joplin. As much as I liked Roger Miller and his unique talent, I believe that the Janis Joplin version exceeded the original sung by Roger Miller (written by the great kris kristofferson). An aside - I had an opportunity to see Roger Miller perform in an intimate setting of about 150 people at The Woodlands restaurant in Hickory, NC 20+ years ago and for some unfathomable reason I didn't attend. I am still kicking myself. http://youtu.be/6ko_bzuODTI
  13. Blindsighted was a good read. I will definitley read more by Karin Slaughter. It is nice to find another author to read. You may enjoy James Lee Burke....his latest two books are Creole Belle and The Glass Rainbow.
  14. Cool, Cool, Water - Sons of the Pioneers
  15. Aw shucks, thank you. How about this cover song: Blue Bayou - original by Roy Orbison and a great, great, cover by Linda Ronstadt.
  16. Older Women (Make Beautiful Lovers) - Ronnie McDowell.............Ronnie was never a great hit but I really like him and he has a great voice. I wish I could find his "cover" of the Beatles hit...."Yesterday" as he was fabulous on it. I seen him perform in front of a small and intimate crowd years ago in North carolina. anyhow, this was one of his hits. http://youtu.be/rHQcJuUHLwo
  17. Crying - the original, of course, was done by Roy Orbison. Don McLean's version at least matches it IMHO.
  18. Moments To Remember - Four Lads...............like this song http://youtu.be/tfY-L5Cp0-0
  19. Name a "Cover Song" that exceeds or approaches the original in popularity. I will start with: I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston which exceeds the great original song by Dolly Parton in popularity. I can think of many others but will only post one song at a time.
  20. Tonight = Smoked pork chops and macaroni with tomatoes.
  21. linguine with clam sauce.
  22. Walking My Baby Back Home - Johnny Ray
