  1. Neither have I. Never have I ever shaved my head.
  2. No, but I would love to make the trip and visit. My wife isn't keen on N.O type food. I did make a trip to Morgan City (business) many, many years ago when we were living in Beaumont, TX and have visited Shreveport, Baton Rouge, etc. I went to an oil show once long ago in Baton Rouge that featured Red Adair.
  3. Thank God I'm A Country Boy - John Denver (I was gonna post - Lollipop by the Chordettes but I didn't know if there was a match )
  4. Where did you go , was it a fairly long trip. You were right though on losing weight. Calories and exercise is what counts. Diets are ok but in the long run it is calories and exercise.
  5. Great to see another fan of Isabel Allende. I attended a lecture/question and answer program that Isabel gave at the University of Virginia many years ago. She was interesting and told some really funny stories. Welcome aboard.
  6. I will put them on my TBR list and hopefully get to them soon. I really enjoyed the two books by Ness that I recently read.
  7. Little White Cloud That Cried - Johnny Ray This is a nice live performance (Johnny Ray is recognized by many as the precursor to Rock and Roll - he is one of my all time favorite singers, I could listen to him forever) http://youtu.be/myu_wBPfpxs
  8. Neither have I (thank goodness) Never have I ever used an I-Phone
  9. Please Mr. Sun - Johnny Ray (Johnnie Ray was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist who enjoyed major popularity for most of the 1950s. He has been cited by many critics as a major precursor of what would become rock and roll. His jazz and blues-influenced music and his animated stage persona made him one of the first teen idols. In 1951 his Cry and The Little White Cloud That Cried both reached #1 on the Billboard charts. In March, 1952, he had three songs at once in the Billboard Top Ten. ) I'm just full of all kinds of interesting information.
  10. I have really thought about this book for a while and have changed my mind about the story. I just finished A Monster Calls and thoroughly enjoyed the book. Any other books by Ness that are recommended.
  11. In The Valley (Where The Evening Sun Goes Down) - Judy Garland
  12. Peacefield - It seems like windy and cold are a normal part of Cadillac mountain. I remember once we were there and everyone had their jackets and hoods fastened tight and we were all shivering. But, like you say the view is so beautiful that it is worth the "numbness". The first sunrise of the day in the U.S. is usually seen from the top of Cadillac as it is the highest point on the U.S. Eastern seaboard. And, talk about annoying people, nothing annoys me so much as people not paying attention to the signs about staying on the rock and paths and not damaging the plant life as it takes the plants many, many, years to grow on this rocky granite.
  13. Cardinale Lanata Moscato d'Asti Average Overall Rating 5 / 5 Sweet, Peach, Honey, Medium-bodied Piedmont, Italy- Delightful flavors of peach and honey mark this sweet, refreshing choice that has less effervescence than a sparkling wine. This Moscato bursts with citrus and floral aromas. Drink it chilled by itself or with fruity desserts. Villa Lanata Moscato d'Asti Average Overall Rating Sweet, Floral, Fresh, Medium-bodied Asti, Piedmont, Italy- A delightfully fresh and spritzy wine, sweetly scented with spring flowers, and gushing with white peach and lemon flavors. This low alcohol beauty is the perfect selection for Sunday brunch, wedding toasts, or with light desserts.
  14. You Are My Sunshine - Ray Charles (gonna go and read A Monster calls )
  15. I was looking out our kitchen window today and saw a spider web that goes from the top of the screen porch to a dogwood tree that is about 15 feet away from the house. How do they do those things.
