1. This sounds like a great challenge - I hope you guys enjoy it. I will look forward to reading how you all got on.
2. LOL Ben - t'was me that added it, but I didn't do it to make you feel stupid. mister.g - I've not read any of the authors on your list - are they thriller/horror? I'm considering trying a horror book but I'm not sure where to start!
3. You need to be careful with that idea!
4. Coastliners by Joanne Harris The ‘blurb’ On the tiny Breton island of Le Devin, life has remained almost unchanged for over a hundred years. For generations, two rival communities, the wealthy La Houssini
5. Thanks Kate, but I read The Shack last year - and found it to be unbelievably preachy and definitely not for me.
6. *Hugs* :console: So sorry to hear about Misty. What a beautiful cat.

7. Great review, Ruth. I've read a couple of hers - The Memory Box which I remember being quite good, and later Is There Anything You Want? which was a bit of a let-down, so I haven't tried anything else. I like the sound of this one though, so shall look out for it.
8. Thanks for the review of The Pilgrim's Progress. Many years ago, when I was about 9 or 10, I used to buy books from our little corner shop (I lived in a small village and it was the only place to buy books!) and I bought The Land of Far Beyond by Enid Blyton, which I loved. This book is very loosely based on The Pilgrim's Progress. A couple of years ago I found it again in a charity shop but haven't quite got round to re-reading it. It was always my intention to try Bunyan's book afterwards, but I've decided after reading your review that 'life's too short', so I think I'll give it a miss.
9. Our library was recently refurbished and they took out all of the comfy chairs in favour of more upright ones.
10. My Family... is a brilliant book - the language is beautiful. I did GCSE English a few years ago (aged 39) and we studied a few passages from it - which was what prompted me to read it for the first time. Some of my class-mates (and not just the teenagers) found it almost too challenging because of the language but I thought it was amazing. I wanted to do coursework on it, but the rest of the class chose Of Mice and Men because it's short! I believe Kizzy was in The Diddakoi by Rumer Godden.
11. Me too! I still have my copy somewhere from donkey's years ago (the one with the pretty pink cover). I might even dig it out and re-read it now you've reminded me of it!
12. I'm with you - if it's a 'to read' then it means you have it but have yet to read it - if you haven't got it then you can't read it until you have it - so that's a 'Wishlist'.
13. I seem to be in the minority here, but I already had a large 'to read' pile before I joined up - it's just that it's grown from one shelf to two! Similarly, I had a wishlist (on Amazon and in my notebook) - this has also grown since joining BCF.
14. I was looking at the book that Kate has just read - Back on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber - and the following comment was left in the feedback section...
15. If I did the lottery... and I won... then I'd be buying these too. They're gorgeous!
16. Gosh, they really are beautiful books.
17. Great review. I've only read one of hers a few years ago (about a vet?) and it was fairly standard chick-lit reading. It's nice to know that she's maturing as a writer.
18. I read it last year. It's quite short and a quick read, so if you ever decide to read it just because of the title, it won't take too long!
19. Thanks. :)

It seems books are like buses - you wait ages and then two turn up at the same time! :D

20. Hi Michelle. I've just had a message on Facebook from one of my 'real-life' friends to say that she has just read The Sisterhood and that she'll lend it to me - and I'm seeing her next week.

Thanks for your kind offer, but it makes more sense for me to get it from Kath, if you don't mind?

21. It's something to do with the colours. You have lots of books that have... [*] before and after just one book title! I tried to sort it for you but there is too much - I can't work out what to remove!
22. Woah - that's quite tricky to read! Some good books there - I've read a fair few of them.
23. Could it have been Special Powers, rather than Magical ones? If so, Amazon have it!
24. It comes out 4 times a year, actually.
