  1. That's a great story Paula
  2. Yowzers! This brought tears to my eyes! (and I'm quite scared of the baby!)
  3. I saw a spoiler for that on the interwebs a month or two ago. They were leaking it whilst it was being filmed. Gutted. Can't wait for this new season though...
  4. International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Morning me mateys!
  5. Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire Michele Bardsley Being a mother is never easy-especially when you're undead. Eva LeRoy, Broken Heart, Oklahoma's librarian, got "vampified" when everyone else did: during a rogue vampire's feeding frenzy. But books still make her undead heart beat-and, strangely enough, so does Lorcan the Loner, the vampire who killed her... Started: 19/09/09 Finished: 29/09/09 Rated: 4/5 Comments: I love these books! Michele Bardsley is definately up there with Kelley Armstrong and MaryJanice Davidson in my opinion. What I thought would be some light vampire fluff has turned up some great plot and a fantastic setting. If you love MJ Davidsons Undead series, you'll love these too.
  6. I've found myself to be very sad over this news. It wasn't exactly unexpected as he's been battling cancer for some time but it has definately left an impact this morning. Also Chef Keith Floyd has died this morning. From the BBC.
  7. Alice Hartley's Happiness Philippa Gregory Alice Hartley can no longer arouse the interest of her pompous husband, the adulterous professor. Despite her efforts, she still leaves him cold. Just as she is compelled to face this chilling truth, she meets Michael, a young student with an excessive libido. In Michael, Alice discovers an endless supply of all she has sought: revenge, sex and a large house suitable for conversion. Soon the house is thigh-deep with women joyfully casting off the shacles of their oppression. Sadly, some narrow-minded neigbours and numerous forces of the law seem completely impervious to all those healing vibrations! Started: 12/09/09 Finished: 18/09/09 Rated: 3/5 Comments: This book was nothing like what I was expecting, however, I thoroughly enjoyed it. For some reason I was expecting more of a 'Crimson Petal and the White'. In places it had me laughing out loud and in a short time, I grew attached to the characters. Worth a read.
  8. I understood the legal implications of the Live Draw (because the BBC have the right to show the lottery results first so he couldn't do it without a slight delay) However, in my mind, his 'wisdom of the crowd' theory doesn't work either. (I was working the maths backwords from the number 2 ball) I don't believe it was something as simple as a split screen, he's just too good for that but it definately wasn't what he said it was. And I wanted those winning numbers this week as well.....
  9. Yay! My aida has arrived, with a Tinkerbell pattern (however did that get in there? ) It's beautiful material. I can't wait to stitch on it.
  10. Hello and Welcome! (From one Katrina to another )
  11. Pizza tonight. A stuffed crust cheese and tomato (to keep the veggie happy )
  12. Hi Naphilia (lovely name) Welcome to the forum! (I moved your thread to the Introductions section so everyone can get to know you)
  13. Thanks for the help Kell. I found it on Sew and So (it was the pearl flecked blue) Can't wait for it to arrive now!
  14. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some very pale blue aida (14 ct) flecked with white. I have this months 'Cross Stitch Crazy' magazine and they have some lovely designs for xmas cards. They are stitched on this lovely fabric and I just can't find it anywhere. It has all the info about what threads to use but nothing on the fabric. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  15. Thanks for that Paula.... Is it me or is it a bit hot in here....
  16. Monkeys love Metallica I love this story!!
  17. I'm not sure what to have tonight. I really want fish fingers (I think this could be Janets fault for tweeting/facebooking about them recently!)
  18. The last film I saw was Harry Potter and the less said about that the better I've been tempted by The Time Travellers Wife. Has anyone seen it yet?
  19. The old thread was getting a bit too long so please continue here I did sit and watch Bridget Jones 1 & 2 in the same night but more recently I've been catching up on stuff on my + box. We went into Blockbuster the other night and there was nothing of any interest at all, that we hadn't already seen, so I'll be looking out for some recommendations.
  20. It should be on iPlayer or catch up tv if you have them. I still haven't watched all of episode two. There a lot longer than I remember.
  21. I'm just catching up on the first two episodes of series 3. As good as ever! Although 'Henry' keeps slipping into an Irish accent an awful lot. I think it's because he's shouting a lot more and it's harder to hide.
  22. Happy Happy Birthday!!!

Hope you have a lovely day. x

  23. Thanks for the warning Mac, I'll watch out for it!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

  24. The Other Queen Philippa Gregory A dramatic novel of passion, politics and betrayal from the author of The Other Boleyn Girl, in which Mary, Queen of Scots, fights to regain her kingdom whilst under the guard of Queen Elizabeth's trusted accomplice, Bess of Hardwick Mary is Queen of Scotland but she has been forced to flee her land and take refuge in an England that is ruled by her cousin Elizabeth. But England, precarious in its Protestant state, set against the mighty powers of Spain, France and Rome, doesn't need a charismatic Catholic figurehead at large. So Elizabeth's chief advisor, Cecil, devises a plan in which Mary will live under guard with his trusted accomplice: Bess of Hardwick. Bess is a self-made woman, a shrewd survivor. She is newly married to her fourth and most distinguished husband, the Earl of Shrewsbury. But what marriage can withstand the charms of Mary? Or the threat of rebellion that she always carries? Mary must wait in her privileged imprisonment for the return to Scotland and her infant son; but waiting is not the same as doing nothing! With her characteristic combination of superb storytelling and authentic historical background, Philippa Gregory brings to life this period of great change in her final novel in the Tudor series. Started: 14/08/09 Finished: 12/09/09 Rated: 3/5 Comments: I honestly can't believe it took me a month to read this book. I found it a bit difficult to get into at first as it switches between 3 main characters but after the first few chapters I really began to enjoy it. I've never really read much about Bess of Hardwick or Mary Queen of Scots but this book really brought the characters to life for me. Another wonderful novel by Philippa which leaves me yearning for more....
  25. It may be that the file is too big. There is a size limit I think.
