  1. My current favourite is B&J Strawberry Cheesecake. I can only get it at the cinema though as none of the supermarkets sell it by the tub. Probably for the best then.
  2. Yay!!! And they sound pretty interesting too.
  3. Just back from watching A Christmas Carol in 3D. It was amazing. I've never seen anything in 3D so this was an experience. It felt like I was actually in the snow
  4. I bought loads of stuff to stitch Christmas cards and have only managed to make two so far. I love to stitch but I find it difficult in the low light conditions. Even with a lamp, I strain my eyes. I hope to finish a couple more though and next year I'll start earlier.
  5. I placed an order last week and half came through HDN and the other half through Royal Mail. It depends on what you are ordering I think. The heavier stuff is by carrier, the rest by standard post. To be fair, they weren't delayed by more than a day anyway.
  6. I was quite disappointed with the big finale this year. So much so, I turned off the tv and went to bed before it finished. I loved the idea of the Singapore Theory on Gallows Hill but thought it deserved much more air time than a quick 15 minute seance, ad break, big build up, ad break, event, ad break then 25 mins of studio whilst the team drove back. (with ad breaks of course) I used to love the idea of a 4 hour live vigil but now it's less than 2 hours of the actual team and any kind of live footage. The rest is studio (and quite boring). Even when nothing much happens, the location team are much more interesting than Paul Ross and the wishy washy historians. Poor show this year unfortunately.
  7. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one. (I'm glad I'm not the only one who learns through historical fiction ) I haven't read anything at all from this period and as I love Philippa Gregory's style and they way she brings characters to life, I'm sure this one will be a winner.
  8. Greywalker Kat Richardson Meet Harper Blaine. She also sees dead people?Harper Blaine is a small-time private investigator trying to earn a living when a low-life savagely assaults her, leaving her for dead. For two minutes, to be precise. When Harper comes to in the hospital, she begins to feel a bit ...strange. She sees things that can only be described as weird-shapes emerging from a foggy grey mist, snarling teeth, creatures roaring. But Harper's not crazy. Her "death" has made her a Greywalker - able to move between our world and the mysterious, cross-over zone where things that go bump in the night exist. And her new gift (or curse) is about to drag her into that world of vampires and ghosts, magic and witches, necromancers and sinister artifacts. Whether she likes it or not. Started: 28/10/09 Finished: 22/11/09 Rated: 2/5 Comments: Maybe the score is a little unfair on this one but the truth is, I just didn't care enough. It's a great idea for a book but the execution was poor. I was plodding along with the story but there just isn't much to it. Shame really but I don't think I'll be giving the second book a go.
  9. I did a little laugh when I heard the name Jake. I love it when they come back
  10. Gutted. My V+ didn't record any of last nights show for no apparant reason. Am watching tonight though.
  11. I think so. She was telling me about last nights show. It also depends on if she can wrestle the remote from my dad I think that the fact she's not in here means she will be tuning in.
  12. Thought I'd resurrect this thread as the latest MHL is on this week. It started last night (I'm only just catching up) and is local to me in the Morcambe Winter Gardens. It's live over 8 nights, for the 8 faces of evil. Any other watchers?
  13. Season 1 was cut short by the writers strike, so I think there were only 9 or 10 episodes. It went straight on to Season 2 from there. I would recommend giving it a go. It's so different from Greys but just as compelling.
  14. I did get an e-mail this morning to say they were doing free delivery but I resisted the urge to log in and check it out. I have no willpower :eek2: Sounds great though and perfect for making a start on the xmas shopping.
  15. Well, it was a brilliant start to Season 3 and this programme is going from strength the strength. I love the characters and they seem to have developed so far in the last season. Can't wait to see what this season holds.
  16. I've been a huge Boyzone fan since I was very young and I'm absolutely devastated at the news. They're such a lovely group of lads and he was so young. Not much older than me.
  17. Whilst I was browsing the web last night I noticed that Private Practice aired Season 3 episode 1 recently. I'm quite excited to see this as they left of Season 2 on a great cliffhanger. Does anyone else watch? I started watching it in between Greys Anatomy series as there was nothing else on and I'm impressed how it has developed in only two short series. Can't wait to get my hands on the new episodes.
  18. So last night I curled up and watched ep1 and 2 of season 6. It was so incredibly sad but at the same time I'm loving having them back to watch. Fantastic new plot evolving (despite the obvious end of season plot) that I think will keep everyone hooked. I'm a happy girly now I can get my Greys fix.
  19. Thanks for that pic Gyre You made a tired girl very (very) happy.
  20. Watched Observe and Report before. It's like Paul Blart Mall Cop but taken too far. Not so great IMO. Now watching Knowing with Nicholas Cage. So far it's quite intriguing but I'm wondering when they are going to blame it on the aliens, as they so often do in wierd future predicting movies.... ETA:
  21. That's a shame Fi, I really liked that film. TBH I gave it while because the hype just built it up too much, but when I did watch it, I enjoyed it for what it was. I'm watching 12 Rounds with John Cena (wrestlers acting in films FTW!)
  22. I've never made rice pudding from scratch but I do love the stuff.... maybe that will be my next culinary experiment.
  23. O's is making some bread I'm a very happy girl!
  24. The Birthing House Christopher Ransom When Conrad Harrison impulse-buys a big old house in Wisconsin, his wife Jo doesn't share his enthusiasm, reluctant at the idea of leaving their LA life - so Conrad is left to set up their new home as she ties up loose ends at work. But Conrad's new purchase is not all that it seems. Soon Conrad is hearing the ghostly wailing of a baby in the night, seeing blood on the floor and being haunted by a woman who looks exactly like Jo. With his wife away, Conrad becomes obsessed by the pregnant girl next door, Nadia, who claims to be a victim of the evil in the house. The crying leads him to a bricked-up body, and the mystery of the Birthing House unravels, pulling in Jo, Nadia and leading Conrad to a nightmarish conclusion... Started: 29/09/09 Finished: 24/10/09 Rated: 2/5 Comments: I'm not sure what I think of this book. On the whole, I didn't like it but something compelled me to read it to the end. I get the idea the author wants to be Stephen King but in no way does he pull it off. There was a good story hidden away in there and occasionally, it was heading down the right path. However, in the end it went a bit awry and I'm not even sure I understood it all anyway. Very confused.
  25. I've been with Virgin for about 5 years now. I started on the basic 3 for
