I've just read the fifth book in the Thursday Next series called First Among Sequels. Small sections of certain conversations are missing from the text and so you can go onto Fforde's website and print off the missing text - there are gaps in the book so that you can stick in the text. You can then print off a certificate which says that the book has been 'upgraded' and stick that in the front of the book. It's a fun idea, but I'm not sure everyone would want to stick in bits of paper to complete certain conversations.

The fifth book in the Thursday Next series continued in the unique and fun storytelling style which I've found the previous books to be in. I've really enjoyed all of these books, but I think this one has been one of the better stories. Next...... TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD Harper Lee

I quite like most of the Dorian Gray covers, especially the ones by Nancy Catsiyannis (row 2), Victor Lestat (row 4) and Rob Williams (row 10). I also like Crime and Punishment by Aurora Zambouni (row 5) and Meditations by Gdoc (row 6).

This is just a silly little thing that I found. My Penguin is the idea where you buy a Penguin book which has a blank white front cover so that you can then design your own cover for it. If you wish to, you can then send a picture of your unique book cover to the My Penguin website gallery. I think some of them are quite good, and there are a few which I actually prefer when compared to Penguin's covers. The website and gallery can be found HERE.

Brideshead Revisited - Really enjoyed reading this one. Waugh writes in such a beautiful way. The main reason why I loved the book was way the reader was allowed to see how, over a number of years, the friendships within the group of main characters change (especially Ryder's relationship with Sebastian's family) and also how each individual changes. There were some wonderful characters in the book and a couple of very comical scenes, i.e., how Ryder's father treats his guests. This was brilliant book. Next...... I'm really glad you enjoyed One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest as I read this a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. I enjoyed the relationship between Nurse Ratched and McMurphy.

My all-time favourite films are definitely the Monty Python films. I absolutely adore these. For me, they are the perfect films. Whilst I was revising for my GCSEs, I decided to give up reading so as not to get distracted from revision. Afterwards, it took me a few weeks to get back into reading. I found it hard to settle down and relax with a book as I kept thinking that I should be doing something else.

LOL - You're right. Now that is a book to tackle! But you never know, maybe I'll give it a go someday.

I've got that one waiting on the shelf. I've read and enjoyed all of the Thursday Next books so far and cannot wait to get started on the new one.

I read The Talented Mr. Ripley last year. I very much enjoyed it. It's a great little crime/thriller read and it completely had me hooked all the way through.

Stephen Fry's biography was an excellent little read. However, it did only cover the first 20 years of his life and takes him up to being accepted at Cambridge University, so if you were wanting to read about his career I suppose we'll have to wait and see whether he writes another book. I for one would certainly read it.

Do anyone know when the next series of Top Gear is going to start?

In our town we only have very tiny second-hand bookshops, but no independent shops for new books. There is one in Malvern (12 miles away), so I try to go there as often as I can due to it being such a lovely bookshop. I too have found many little gems in there that I probably wound not have found in Waterstones.

So, foraging through the headmaster's desk one afternoon I had happened upon a list which called itself Eleven Plus results, listing Intelligence Quotient Results or some such guff. I noticed it because my name was at the top wih an asterisk typed next to it and the words 'Approaching genius' added in brackets. Cromie, the headmaster had underlined it in his blue-black ink ad scrawled, 'Well that bloody explains everything...' MOAB IS MY WASHPOT Stephen Fry
