I love her books, a little bit of advice is that she has the same 3 main characters throughout her books, I don't think it makes much of a difference to the story, but just so you know they have a little history

    Oh I love her books
  3. LOL I keep trying to swap, but I only have 2 books left now and I guess they're not everyones cup of tea Still if I get some more of my books read I can add them on there
  4. Just bought this off of ebay, so will be interested to know what you think
  5. I think thats what I'm looking forward to the most
  6. I visited her website just now, didn't know that she had so many books out. Vanishing Act is on its way to my library and I'm going to read it to see what I think of her writing, but I have to say that all the other books look great, they're the type of books that really get you thinking about what you would do in similar situations I think.
  7. Oooh sounds like a good book Angel, what would you rate it out of 10?
  8. And very well done too, thank-you Acesare*
  9. I enjoyed 'Spirit' was a good book IMO, I'd not read too many 'ghost' stories before and I enjoyed his style.
  10. I think that I started in number 5 in her series, but as the book was brilliant it really didn't make a difference as she was still developing the characters. Is anyone else still reading it, or will a new book for Jan be chosen?
  11. Its a shame that this was your first 'Scarpetta' book as I do think its the least strong of her books, she seems to waffle on, filling spaces with mundane descriptions etc. However, the storyline is actually good, and if you are ever comtemplating trying her again, 'Post Mortem' is the first in the Scarpetta series and one I would recommend
  12. That was me, I feel he has changed, but I guess that happens to alot of characters after so many books.
  13. There's no harm is reading 'Trace' first, its just a shame she's changed so much. I will say this, that if you don't enjoy the book, please try her earlier ones they are brilliant, its not that 'Trace' is total rubbish, its just that compared to her earlier stuff is it a letdown, she 'waffles' a bit more, almost as if she is trying to fill the pages up. I am still going to reread it so I can discuss the book with you guys, though I'll probably skim through it rather than read every page
  14. Scarpetta books make more sense being read in order, if 'Trace' is your first then it prob won't make a good impression, I think its the worst of her books and had trouble finishing it, it drove me mad with boredom most of the time.
  15. Oh he's scrummy
  16. Ths actually sounds familiar, though not sure if I read the whole thing or just a few chapters :?
  17. Oooh sounds like I have to get reading. Maybe we ought to ask Michelle nicely, if she'll move these posts into the authors room, so we can chat away about Ms Slaughter *pretty please* *with cherries on top*
  18. It was 'Kisscut' and quite a riveting read She definietly has a unique style, I can't say I can group her with anyone else who is that similar, which is what I like about her book 8-)
  19. And how she never loses a single hair at a crime scene is a miracle I now have the CSI game for the PC, so I get to collect evidence all by myself
  20. For years I have been truly fascinated by forensics (thank-you Ms Cornwell) and I love reading all about it. One day I hope to study it too Jake, I am so envious of you Do you watch CSI?
  21. I'd love to see more musicals on stage I think they are so breathtakingly wonderful. Last year I saw 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and I adored it, it has always been my favourite musical
  22. Kathy Reichs, IMO, is truly outstanding, so much fact and info incorperated into a gripping story, everytime
  23. I think that eating something that makes you happy is therefore good for you (my theory anyhow )
  24. LOL anything that has people singing again and again in it counts as a musical in my book
  25. Ahhh yes Rocky Horror Picture Show is awesome too
