  4. Using a soap based spray is a good way of getting rid of mites and the 500+ types of aphids. I have grown organically for several years and I have a healthy thriving wildlife population. Bluetits, sparrows, ladybirds are great getting rid of aphids. Failing that, just rub off the pests with your fingers. Companion planting also helps - growing marigolds beside herbs & tomatoes saves the crop I absolutely loathe the damage by slugs and snails . How do other people get rid of theirs? I like to use value beer traps or go out with the salt pot!!

  12. Kell!! I was in my element today.Went to the library and there on the shelf, brand new and unread 3 out of 4 Plantagenate books by Jean Plaidy . Me happy girl!!!!!!!!!
  13. Started a book by Jean Plaidy - The Revolt of the Eagles
  14. They were fascinating - despite my aversion to war stories, I found myself wanting to know about Julien. I had correctly guessed the inevitable outcome. It was a well written novel - just wish I was less tired to appreciate it more/ H&D wrote I've only just started it (50 pages in) but that does seem the basic plotline. At least I won't have to think about it!!!
  15. I love P.D. James as well. She is certainly one of our more talented female crime writers. Death in Holy Orders was brilliant. The Lighthouse was also enjoyable Martin Shaw is absolutely delectable as Adam Dalgleish and makes the drama even more enjoyable to watch

  19. I said that to my DH as well. Hammond put in a terrific job and had the harder end of the bargain. It was thoroughly entertaining
  20. Although I'm enjoying The Memory Palace, haven't done much reading as I've been exhausted. Moving a ward upstairs and setting up a new one is exhausting work!
