  6. Thanks a lot!! At least now I have an idea of where to tread.....
  7. Angel......it is the type of book which you will be able to finish in once sitting if left in peace......not taxing at all.
  8. Just finished this book. I agree with Louise - I enjoyed this book .....also think there will be a sequel :nothing:
  9. We don't even get free coffee at work, let alone food!!
  10. Andy. Elaborate!!
  11. Does it still whistle?
  12. Don't think we get that - although to tell you the truth never looked for it specifically. What would you serve with that?
  13. I use cream corn in the chinese chicken and sweetcorn soup. It is loose canned corn (not on the cob) in a creamy liquid (I guess cornstarch and water)Here I find it in the chinese section of the supermarket.
  14. The one I tried was with lamb. http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/lambshankroganjosh_7375.shtml I managed to find it online. Let's see if this link works
  15. I forgot how it is done. Have to fish out Ainsley's recipie and try it again. I remember it was good! I am cooking chinese today. I already prepared the chicken and sweet corn soup (phew!) I bought the other stuff - wantons, spring rolls, spicy chicken breast, pork balls etc, would not even dream of trying to do those from scratch.
  16. I tried this once Kell, I was watching some programm on BBC and Ainsley did this recipe. It turned out quite ok. Forgot to do it again though!
  17. mmmnnnnnnnn
  18. So Kell, are King's books free of I have bought another King....Cannot remember the name....perhaps "eyes of the dragon"....hope it is zombie free.
  19. You know - being classified as horrors are what mostly put me off reading any of his books in the first place. I abhor zombie, mummies, dracula, vampires, hellraising, Freddie krouger stuff. Those Hellraiser and Krouger movies give me the creeps! (I watched them aeons ago!) Give me a plain old murder any time, but once you're dead, kindly stay that way!

Have now started Bad Mother's Handbook.
  21. Other half cooked today, as I was otherwise busy! He did one of his specialities - Pieces of chicken tossed in flour and pepper, and cooked with bits of bacon and chunky pieces of marrow/courgettes and onions. The sauce of this dish really tastes delicious - I love dipping crusty bread in it! Yummy!
  22. Hey anyone has a great recipie for Chilli?
  23. Well this is my second King - (have previously read The Dead Zone). As with the other book, the author's imagination is great. Still, after this book I would not classify King as a Horror writer - although it was gory and "disgusting" in parts:-) I was not terrified.(Do not wish to be) I felt a bit claustrophobic as the first 320+ pages of a 380 page book were spent in the same room, with the main character tied to the bed...reminiscing about her life. Perhaps for this reason I could not read it for long periods at a time...and I sometimes felt that the story is progressing too slowly. Perhaps it was the author's wish to make the reader feel time is passing very slowly - like it was doing for the (main) character. Meanwhile you get to know her background - which ultimately lead her to be in the current situation. The exciting part was the last 80 pages, which are over before you know it.
  24. Have to add that this was a fantastically good read in my opinion!

Have finished my second King book, and have not yet made up my mind fully about this author that everyone seems to like so much.
