Apart from the Anne Rice bit, I agree with Kell!
-
And go to the discussion thread.. there's tumble-weed in there at the moment!

I requested early at the library.. and I'm one of 6.

Sounds good to me.

I've read Origin In Death, and I'm feeling a bit mixed. The beginning didn't seem to good, but the story started developing quite nicely.
I know Dallas is still having nightmares, but she's starting to settle more into all her relationships.. and that's actually disappointing.
Although the 'story' was a bit different, the general idea is getting a little repetitive, and the 'magic' between the characters isn't quite so good.
However, Murder In Death looks hopeful.. I'm hoping it shakes Dallas up a bit! If not, the series needs to end before it goes down even more. And no mucking about.. let's see Dallas killed in the line of duty, and Roarke's grief! (Gosh, I'm evil sometimes! hehe)

I've just read Origin In Death, and have quite mixed feelings... at the beginning I was quite disappointed, but then Robb starts to tell quite a story. I ended up really enjoying the storyline, but the 'magic' wasn't there with the characters. Is was starting to creep back in however, and the plotline for Murder In Death looks promising, so that's coming my way now.
Somewhere, at some point, I spotted The Magicians' Guild by Trudi Canavan, and decided it looked good, so I ordered it at the library. I picked it up today, so it's my next to read.

And if it should go up for sale or swap, let me know

You know what, I've read Bloodstream too, I'm sure of it.. but I can't remember how it ends!
-
Life Support - that's the one!
-
I will - and it'll probably be up for sale or swap.

I've just been flicking through Amazon, and Gravity sounds really cool - has anyone tried that one?
GreenMetropolis had an 'excellent' copy, and I had credit in my account, so....

I read The Apprentice and really enjoyed. It's a follow on (although not actually a sequel) to The Surgeon, so I got hold of that, and liked that too. The Sinner was also good.
I recently read one of her older ones.. can't remember the name, and it was quite a bit different - it reminded me of John Saul's older books.

Glad you like it Claire.. and discovering new authors is something I think we've all experienced here.
Fell free to potter around and join in where-ever you wish. You'll be entered in our competition if you make 30 posts before the end of the month.

As it seems to be the book of the moment, we may as well turn it into a reading circle. Kell and I have read it, so we'll jump straight in once the discussion starts...
So..

I agree - I've always been a fan of horrors and thrillers, but they do start getting a little formulaic. You may find yourself trying some good new authors if you wander around here.
-
Ok.. my mind was going the right direction then!
-
Erm.. as I never read this, can someone explain? (Although I'm starting to get an inkling!)
-
Do you have any favourite authors, or a favourite series of books?

It's the cheapest place I've seen it so far... unfortunately their site appears to be down right now. :grr:

It seemed to me that as it approached the end, there was less and less before changing to each time period - that helped the build up to the end.
