Hmm... I forget, have you read any others? At this point in the series, you really need to know about the characters amd their pasts.

It's about time we had a thread for Philippa, I think, seeing as she's mentioned so often.
Who's read what, what did you like and dislike, do any of them belong in a series etc ?
-
Has anyone gotten hold of this yet? It's still not available at the library, even though it says I'm first in the queue!
mutters... *must not buy, must not buy*

I like most eras.. until now my experience has been Egyptian, which I loved, and medieval (Michael Chrichton's Timeline). I obviously enjoyed Labyrinth, but that was more because it was a really good book, rather than when it was set.
I have a great enjoyment is learning how people lived in history.. I loved history when we were studying the Romans, but could comtemplate GCSE because the syllabus was all about the world wars, and the politics.
I therefore think I'd enjoy most historical books.
I don't really mind whether they are fictional characters, or actual characters, but I would want the latter to be really well researched.

Good thinking Kell.. I hope you mentioned here!

Just a few pages. It's not my usual thing, but it seems a interesting. I think I need to be in the right frame of mind to read it.
-
As I asked Kell in another thread, which time period did you prefer?
For me, although I enjoyed both, I was really hooked by the historical side of it.
Favourite characters?

Memory In Death was MUCH better - I'm happy now!
(And I'll let Eve live a bit longer!
)

The story of a lady being seduced by a unicorn with a large horn being depicted left me grinning with its innuendos
-
That gives me a start - thank you both.
Anyone else, what is your experience of Nora Roberts.. do you have favourites, or ones you didn't like?
-
I did start Remember When, because the second half is about Eve Dallas, but never really got into it. Maybe it's one to try again?
-
As some of you know, I just adore the In Death series, where Nora writes as JD Robb. But for some reason, something is putting me off her other books. Knowing the sorts of things that I like, can anyone recommend a good one ot start off with?

Bethany has been jumping up the reading levels at school, and she's now at the top. She's a 'free reader', which means she can just go and choose what she wants, when she wants.. and only 2 other people in her year have reached that point.
It's obviously encouraged her, because she's starting to read even more at home too.

I was quite disappointed with ethe film Mau - I had a very different image of certain things in my mind.
-
Not sure why I was calling it Murder in Death, when it's Memory!
-
One chapter into Memory In Death, and I'm already much happier.. I hope it continues.

I've read one chapter of Memory In Death, and I'm already thinking 'much better'! I hope it continues!

Maureen, are you celebrating my birthday all by yourself over there?!

Well, I'm going to get Magicians Guild out again at some point. I've read Savage and Ascension, and really enjoyed them. They'll be moving onto Inanna next.
I ordered Memory In Death from Bol, because I was too impatient with my library (and now I know my memberships is fulfiled). It arrived today... and then I found out the library book was there!
However, that means I now have a brand new copy to put on ebay - they usually sell well, and there aren't any others there atm!
So that's next...
-
Now.. no more!!
Bet you do.
Its like an addiction, you always need one last fix LOLOLOLOL
It's been added to...

I agree - I normally dislike books that go from one time to a next, or one person to the next, as I don't like leaving one storyline or character behind. But this worked really well.
-
I'm at that funny stage again, where nothing is really grabbing me. I'm not in the right frame of mind for Magicians' Guild, but I may persevere because it's a library book. I took 'Host' to football, and that was enjoyable enough. And now I have Paradise from Kell, and I want to read it along with her.
I may end up reading which ever appeals to me at the time, and see how I get on.
In addition, I've finished Savage, and am about to move on to Ascension - that one gave me a good insight into why Clay is the way he is with Jeremy.

Clan of the Cave Bear is one of the few books I've read twice.. and it was even better the second time round. Sigh.. I've just hyped it even more! LOL
As for Kelley Armstrong, if the subject matter puts you off, there's not much point really. But if you do like the subject matter, then they're great books. Oops.. more hype!
Ok, Clan of the Cave Bear and kelley Armstrong are rubbish.. DON'T READ! hehehe

Then start nearer the beginning - I started with Rapture, which is the 4th, and that was ok, but I then went back to number 1, which is Naked.
