The blanket took months during the very first lockdown and the layers repeat, so once I got the hang of it I could make it any size. I love the wallpaper too and found it a certain DIY chain and insisted that it went up. The cat actually lives on the floor next to the fireplace, it was just easier to photograph it there. Thank you. My father wanted to do it so he printed out all the templates, cut them all out, then went right off building it, so I finished it. It has a matching cat coming down the wall and they almost touch, it's very endearing. Not sure where we'd put that though. Love that Zentangle pattern, Marie H, I can see why you're obsessed. -

I crochet. Amigurumi mostly but I have made two blankets. I also like to indulge in paper crafts - origami, mask making, 3d models - from time to time and have a wealth of paper/card that I collected for same. I also have a massive collection of rubber stamps which I use to make greetings cards, occasionally. I do love my lucetting and I have been known to do some tatting. I also have a massive collection of magazines on the subjects of paper crafting and crochet. Think that's about it. -

I'm just going to quote Amazon here : Often cited as one of the great novels of twentieth-century American fiction, Carson McCullers' prodigious first novel was published to instant acclaim when she was just twenty-three. Set in a small town in the middle of the deep South, it is the story of John Singer, a lonely deaf-mute, and a disparate group of people who are drawn towards his kind, sympathetic nature. The owner of the café where Singer eats every day, a young girl desperate to grow up, an angry socialist drunkard, a frustrated black doctor: each pours their heart out to Singer, their silent confidant, and he in turn changes their disenchanted lives in ways the could never imagine. Moving, sensitive and deeply humane, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter explores loneliness, the human need for understanding and the search for love. I'm not in a position to judge greatness but it was a great novel and I'd recommend it.

I don't want to derail the Limerick Game thread but I wanted to let you see my take on the started limericks : A clueless young gent from the coast Had a woman named Maureen as host He let down her hair Found that nothing was there And concluded that she must be a ghost A young politician from Louth Had his chest tattooed 'Nil by Mouth' It must be a lie Politician's heard cry Of that there is absolutely no doubt I'm ready to sing you the blues At any old time that you choose It needn't be sad Because that would be bad You don't want your hearing to bruise And today's : A man named Paul Smith from the city Decided that he was so pretty He stared in the mirror Which took him forever It all made him feel rather giddy -
