  1. I'm glad to hear The Radley's is great too. I had no idea it was a different book- I dislike that too. There was a Jack Reacher that was a different title in the US, Running Blind, but was The Visitor. Oh! And NOS4A2 is different in the UK as well.
  2. Wow- I thought you disliked it more than that Good review!
  3. Wow The Humans I'm 45% in.
  4. I just read about this book called The 13 Days of Christmas by Jason F Wright From Amazon Marva Ferguson has a very personal Christmas tradition that happens every December 26. As an aging widow, the tradition means more to her now than it ever has. Her newest neighbor, nine-year-old Charlee, loves Christmas too. But her family has fallen on hard times and things get worse when Charlee becomes critically ill. Then, on December 12, Charlee makes a wonderful discovery. A mysterious note is delivered that promises twelve days of gifts and stories that will reveal the truth behind the beloved Christmas carol "The Twelve Days of Christmas." As the days go by, the gifts hint at a possible lost lyric. Was there once a 13th day of Christmas? And if so, could its magic change—or save—a life?

  7. I totally will. I didn't know if I should wait to read the review til I read the book or read the review before I read the book! Yes, I think you should
  8. Good to see you around!! I liked the review of The Shinning, it sounds a lot scarier than the movie! Shame Alice in Time was a disappointment.
  9. Congrats!! You didn't tell me which one you won! I saw the movie, it was really good. Not as good as Fault in Our Stars, but thought provoking... I wonder if the book is like the movie... Which CRH's did you order?
  10. Already?? That was fast I hope to finish next week., then start on The Scorch Trials. The Radley's looks good too, after The Humans, I am fully interested in checking out Haig's other stuff- and the Labrador Pact too I plan on reading a lot of shorter books next year and he fits right in with that as The Radley's is short too. The Radley's sounds just as different as The Humans.
  11. Here is a clip from the movie Cressida introducing her team: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2014/11/08/mockingjay-clip-natalie-dormer/ I just can't wait for Mockingjay!
  12. This is my first of his, but I also have the sample for The Radley's... which I think is his most popular. Like The Humans, The Radley's sounds very "different" as well. I can see myself getting more into his writing next year.
  13. NEW Catherine Ryan Hyde, December 9, 2014, pre-order $4.99 The Language of Hoofbeats 344 pages: New to a small town, Jackie and Paula envision a quiet life for their kids: a young adopted son and two teenage foster children, including the troubled Star. However, they quickly butt heads with their neighbor, Clementine, who disapproves of their lifestyle and is incensed when Star befriends her spirited horse, Comet. Haunted by past tragedy and unable to properly care for Comet, Clem nevertheless resents the bond Star soon shares with the horse. When Star disappears with Comet, the neighbors are thrown together—far too close together. But as the search for the pair wears on, both families must learn to put aside their animosity and confront the choices they’ve made and the scars they carry. Plumbing the depths of regret and forgiveness, The Language of Hoofbeats explores the strange alchemy that transforms a group of people into a family. http://www.amazon.com/Language-Hoofbeats-Catherine-Ryan-Hyde-ebook/dp/B00IUA8IP6/ref=sr_1_6?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1415478148&sr=1-6&keywords=catherine+ryan+hyde
  14. Nothing and I wish it was something
  15. There is a brewery about 5 hours north from here, on the coast with a Belgium beer named Brother Thelonious, after Monk, I believe, check it out: http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/beer-brotherThelonious.htm I'm not big on Belgium's, but this one is good. My mom likes it a lot as well. Cheers!
  16. That is a beautiful name! Wow.
  17. I don't know HOW I do them at the same time lol I blame my previous job, I had to use 3 computers at once and was constantly emailing back and forth with a friend. Multi tasker to the max
  18. Ok, at least I wasn't totally off the mark then. I was afraid it was just me I saw you had answered and I was afraid you had disagreed Ya, I get the feeling Where We Belong will get me! That will definitely be my next CRH. Athena just finished it, but I haven't read her review yet.
  19. Coming along nicely with The Humans, although I am surfing the net while reading Hi Frankie!
  20. I am loving Matt Haig's The Humans, about an extraterrestrial writing about his experiences on Earth as a human, to his fellow aliens. OMGosh I am actually laughing out loud at some of this stuff. It's a dark comedy, and very enjoyable. Easy, nice. Refreshing.
  21. Pages: 565 Dates: 11/1- 11/5/14 Book #66 for 2014 "And I knew that my only way through this mass of simultaneous future outcomes was to hold tight to the idea that it was possible to get to ok from where we were now. Not assured. Just possible." Catherine Ryan Hyde’s prose continues to amaze in When You Were Older, when Rusty barely survives the World Trade Center attacks by being late to a meeting in the buildings before they were hit. The reason why is because his mother has died, leaving no one to care for his mentally ill brother. However, When You Were Older was a disappointment to me. Rusty and Ben (the mentally ill brother) were one dimensional, there was little to no conflict. No twists, no turns, just a story. Which might be ok, but my favorite of Hyde’s are the ones that make me feel deep down, touch my insides, make me cry. When You Were Older had none of that for me. I've given up ratings but would not recommend this to someone trying to get into her writing, instead recommending Don't Let Me Go, still my favorite of hers to date.
  22. I'm at a good stopping point in Maze Runner, so I'm ready to go for tomorrow! I'll have my writing lab and then get into The Humans- I have it downloaded and ready lol
  23. I'm not at the Grievers part yet, but I saw the movie and they were pretty silly in that too. Just started today- I couldn't wait for Monday- now on chapter 6, but might read more before bed. Edited a million times because I'm using a touch screen.
  24. Love Edward Norton!
  25. Just finished When You Were Older by Catherine Ryan Hyde. I don't think it was one of her best...but I enjoyed it. Its definitely my least favorite of hers. Review to follow in my thread.
