I'm currently reading Emily Giffin - Babyproof. I wanted something different after reading A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin, so I picked something that's easier to read and less complicated (by that I mean, lesser storylines and lesser main characters). I don't really know much about this book or author, I bought it at a book fair because it sounded good and because it was cheap. So far it's quite good, I'm really enjoying it.

One of my friends really liked The Tommyknockers so I bought it based on his recommendation. There are a few more on your reading plan that are on my TBR or on my wishlist, others I haven't heard of. I hope you like the books in this plan! Nice reviews btw ! I've downloaded Summer to my Kindle and might read it for the Reading Circle, soon.

I didn't know Dahl's granddaughter was the model for the book, so thanks for that information . I plan on reading this book in a while, I remember reading it when I was a child, though I don't remember as much of it as of say The Witches (a book I owned and thus read a lot) or Matilda (a book I loved a lot and so borrowed it often from the library). Nice review !

Yesterday I watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory, season four episode two, where Sheldon uses a mobile virtual presence device (a robot). I really like this episode.

No, I haven't. I've only watched some trailers and read a bit on several sites on the internet (ie. Wikipedia). So we'll have to see how I get on! It hasn't been shipped yet but hopefully will be here in a while.

I'm glad to hear you liked it .

George R. R. Martin - A Song of Ice and Fire 2: A Clash of Kings Genre: Fantasy Format: Paperback Pages: 741 No synopsis because it's part two of a series. My thoughts: I started to read this book because I recently read A Game of Thrones. I also want to see the second season of the TV show and wanted to read the book first (I've had the Blu-ray for a little while). The letters are quite a bit smaller than in book one, even though they have the same cover design and so on (I really like this cover design, better than the newer covers with the TV stuff on it). This book was really good. It's a great follow-up from the previous book, A Game of Thrones. I didn't like some of the characters, but I loved a lot of the others. There were many good (unexpected) plot twists, though I didn't really like some because I was rooting for certain characters. That though is sometimes a sign that a book is well written. In particular: Rating: ***** (10/10)

Wow, that's really hot! Good luck . Also good luck with the goodbye, that sounds very difficult .

I hope it's good ! I've been trying to relax and rest. The weather is pretty warm. There was a thunderstorm in the morning (with lots of rain), but it's still pretty warm and also humid. I'm stressed sometimes and tired but gladly it's a lot better than a while ago so it just takes some time I think . I'll be going on holidays not too long from now, so will do some preparations for that in the next while too.

Nice review ! I can't really clarify things for you as it's been too long since I read the book. I plan to re-read it in a while, I really liked it the first time I read it.

I'm glad to hear that !

I agree ! Current thoughts are to be joining on one of the three days of the read-a-thon.

Yay, I guessed it . Have fun reading !

So I caved and ordered Animal Crossing: New Leaf to play on holidays, and perhaps before then. I haven't played any games lately, so it'll be nice to play a nice game, I hope I like it.

I have a few David Gemmell books on the shelf (though I plan to buy more of the series, I want to read them in order), glad to hear you liked this one! Nice review .

I think they are abbreviations of book titles? GotM could be Gardens of the Moon, one of the books of Steve's beloved Malazan book series. I don't know if this is the case for all of them, but the abbreviations seem to match up with titles of books in the series. This is my guess anyway, let's see what Steve says .

I haven't read his blogs but I follow him on Facebook. He seems like a really nice guy. He's doing a signing in the Netherlands in August but unfortunately it's bad timing for me so I don't think I can go.

^ that is very nice too!

x Those are all my books, though a lot of them are on my TBR. I didn't seperate it into TBR and R (read), I could do that if you're interested though, but can't put it all in one post I think or it would get too confusing. x x Ah , I think I'll do it a bit differently next year, at the very least add more posts to the beginning of the thread, before it starts with posts by other people. I love arranging lists and books too! Yep, it's the first year. I joined in January. It does feel like I've been here longer! I'm so happy to have found this forum, the people (including you!) are so wonderful . x x I fully agree, it seems to be added on just to get more viewers. x x Thank you! I've added them to the wishlist . x x I agree, I could easily see myself re-reading it in a while. It was such a great book. The viewpoint was quite unique, I've read a few other books also written from the point-of-view with someone with autism, wish there were more of them (you might like House Rules by Jodi Picoult). x x Yes I gave my presentation about two and a half weeks ago! I don't have my diploma yet, that should happen in August. I'm really enjoying my time off, though I'm still stressed and anxious sometimes. I think it'll take time to get out of my system. I'm also still tired so need more rest. But I'm really enjoying my time off. I've been reading, spending time on the computer, spending time with my boyfriend (ie. going out shopping), watching things. I'm going on holidays in a few weeks so I'm looking forward to that. x x I'm glad to hear you felt the same. Howard's End is on the Landing is on my TBR, glad to hear you liked it a lot more! I look forward to reading it sometime not too long from now.

Welcome here ! Science-fiction is one of my favourite genres. What kind of authors / books do you like in the science-fiction genre? Some authors I like are Peter F. Hamilton, Arthur C. Clarke, Iain M. Banks, Joe Haldeman, Dan Simmons, and more. Some that are still on my shelf unread: Isaac Asimov, Neal Asher, Alastair Reynolds, and more. I like fantasy, science-fiction, contemporary fiction and chick-lit. Other genres I like include literature / classics, horror, detectives / mystery, paranormal (ie. vampires), thrillers (lately I'm not really into thrillers as much as I used to be). I prefer to read a mixture between books that are more intellectual / complex vs. books that are easier to read. Especially when I'm tired it's much easier to read a 'simpler' book. I also prefer a mixture between 'realistic' and 'non-realistic' books, ie. contemporary fiction, things that happen quite a bit all over the world, vs. space ships or medevil castles and swords etc. I don't read a lot of non-fiction though lately I'm reading more of it on my Kindle (most books I read are paperbacks).

That's very nice, Poppyshake! (don't worry about your rambling, I can be like that too and like reading what you want to say)

I don't plan on participating fully, I'll be busy with certain other things (preparations for the holidays). I don't want to start any big book before I go on holidays unless I can finish it before I leave (I don't want to be taking half a read book with me). But I might read some shorter books, I don't know yet. I should be able to participate more fully in September, however there is a book fair then which I really want to go to XD, but I don't know yet which day I'll go. I think it's great you two are reading the same book, that sounds very nice .
