x It sounds pretty tough, I'm glad you're hanging in there . x x Which games will you be getting? Good luck with buying presents, it should be nice for you to get some books for Christmas. Do you have specific ones you ask or do you just give people your whole wishlist?

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the book, James !

It's on my wishlist, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it so far . I think the overusage of the word damn would bother me as well, glad it's enjoyable aside from that though.

There are so many books I want to read, but I can't read them all very soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this "problem". What to do when there are many books you want to read, but you don't seem to have enough time or energy to do so? Here are some 'tips': - Invent a time machine - Become a vampire - Find a cure so you can live a long time - Win the lottery so you can perhaps stop working or hire a cleaner etc. - Prioritise, as hard as that is, select which books you want to read first - Don't look so much at the places where you normally find even more great books or recommendations (except here!) - Prioritise activities in your life, find more time and energy for reading - Get started right now, start reading.. - Make a TBR pile or piles, then just stare at them for a while and feel all giddy about the possibly great books you're going to read - Think hard about which ones you really want to read - Enjoy the books that you read, even if it isn't all the books you'd like to read, try to be happy with what you've got - Think back about the great reads you've already read in your life That's all I can think of for now. I realise this is a luxury problem to have, though I wish I could get to some of my books sooner! Must try and read more..

We saw the first two episodes of season two of Game of Thrones and plan to see more soon. So far it's good, though I imagined a few characters a bit differently (compared with the second book). I enjoyed it and overall there was less needless violence and nudity, though there were a unnecessary few scenes and bits added in that weren't in the book. The rest was pretty good, though.

Yesterday evening we watched Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events. It was pretty good. I own the second book but haven't yet read it, so I don't know how it compares to the books.

x I agree, that relationship was really well done. x x Thanks . I love the BSC books too, I think my favourite character would be Mary Anne, probably because I was shy too when I was younger. I like all the characters though. I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the Harry Potter book you read, well we can't all like the exact same things. As long as there are books out there that you enjoy . x x I agree ! It doesn't mean anything in Dutch but it does make one wonder how the author chose the name. It's said in the books, when he introduces himself, he always says "De Cock, met ceeooceeka", where cee ( C ) oo (O) cee ( C ) ka (K) is how you'd spell the name, in Dutch.

x I'm sure we're all happy to support you (I'd like to, at least). The Brian Cox book sounds interesting, as do some of the others (such as Books vs. Cigarettes). Great that you bought Replay, I hope you enjoy it! I hope you enjoy all your new books . I'm glad to hear your mojo is slowly coming back . Great review of b]The Kingdom Besieged[/b]. I really ought to start sometime reading Raymond E. Feist's works, but there are so many books I want to read.

Great review of A Feast for Crows! Now that we've started to watch the second season of Game of Thrones I'm quite eager to start reading the third book (it's split into two so, the first part of the third book). Great news on the writing! That's awesome . -
Great review of The Wizard of Oz. I own this on the Kindle (I think I own the complete volume), I've also only seen a film or musicals but I haven't actually ever read the book. It's on my TBR. Great review .

x No, it's written as one book as far as I know. When I bought it, I didn't know much yet about the internet and how it worked, this was the version that the shop I used at that time, had. It's a box set with three books in them, all with the same title. Here's a link to Amazon, I don't know if this is the same one but it looks the same (I didn't know Amazon at this point in time). Image to go with the link:

I agree with all of you, I found it enjoyable as well though not brilliant.

Sorry to hear you didn't get around to doing what you wanted to, it's nice that you had some fun at least though. I've had a visit from my sister and her boyfriend and am quite tired now from it. Time for some rest (and doing laundry..).

A cave sounds awesome! Provided there aren't any scary insects or animals in there, but that's all up to us so . I'd like: - two bicycles and bicycle tools (in case the tire has a hole in it etc) - some exercising equipment (ie. weights) - some sporty comfy clothes for me and my boyfriend

x I'm glad you're enjoying Gone Girl, it's on my TBR. I've almost finished Phil McGraw - The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom on the Kindle and I'm making good process with the second Mind Gym book, The Mind Gym - The Mind Gym 2: Tijd Maken. I haven't yet started a new fiction read. In other news, I've ordered a few books.

Great news about the book shop, it looks beautiful and very interesting ! The owl story is very sweet! I'm glad the owl healed up and lived.

I hope you enjoy it! I've had the book(s) (I have a boxset with three books) for quite some time now, they're still in the plasic . It sounds like such a great story, somehow I've just not got around to reading it yet though.

Tim's Horror, Fantasy and Sci-Fi Reads from 2012

J. K. Rowling - Harry Potter 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (re-read) Genre: Fantasy, Children's/YA Format: Paperback Pages: 251 Synopsis (GoodReads):Harry Potter is a wizard. He is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Little does he know that this year will be just as eventful as the last ...even getting there is an adventure in itself! The three firm friends, Harry, Ron and Hermione, are soon immersed in the daily round of Potions, Herbology, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Quidditch. But then horrible and mysterious things start happening. Harry keeps hearing strange voices, sinister and dark messages appear, and then Ron's sister Ginny disappears ... My thoughts: For the last read-a-thon I reread the first Harry Potter book, so it seemed fitting I'd read the second one for the next read-a-thon (though the later books are much bigger so I might not be continuing this trend). I read this book in Dutch when I was a teenager, and hadn't yet read it in English before (I did read the first one in English when I was a teenager). This book, upon reading it now, was more enjoyable than I remembered it was. I really liked reading about the characters and their adventures. One thing I like about books that feature a school is getting to know the courses and the learning process, I find this quite interesting. The feature that bothered me was the rule breaking of the characters, otherwise I don't really have any negative things to say about this book, that I can think of. I didn't like a few characters, but they're meant to be negative and mean so that makes sense. I liked some of the new characters that are introduced in this book, ie. some of the professors and school mates (ie. some of the new first years) and I liked that Ginny played a bit of a bigger role. Overall I really enjoyed this book, it's a great fantasy series with lots of imagination. I also watched the first and second films recently (my boyfriend bought a box set with all of them) and it was really enjoyable seeing the film and reading the book so close together (of course first I finished the book, before we watched the film). It was nice seeing the differences and how the films acted out certain scenes or changed them. I prefer the books, but the films were enjoyable too. Rating: ***** (9/10)
