  1. I have All Creatures Great and Small on my TBR, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it .
  2. Happy Birthday Emelee!! I hope you enjoy your day . I'm glad you had fun spending time with him and I hope you have fun in the Christmas holidays too . I had a headache for most of today, so I didn't feel up for doing much. I had a bath (gladly after that my head felt a bit better) and did do a lot of reading. This weekend I plan to do a bit of (Christmas) shopping if I feel up for it, I hope to buy a tree and some lights and decorations.
  3. Some nice ones there, Devi and Emelee !
  4. I hope you enjoy the rest of the book . Do take your time, we're more than happy to talk with you about it after you finish it . P.S. I'm almost afraid to mention it, but I finished The Death Cure . It was quite good. It's different from the first two books but it was quite interesting and there were a lot of plot twists. My review will be posted tomorrow (I've written most of it), but I thought I'd quickly say something here. Don't worry, I'm more than happy to wait discussing it until more of you have read it. I was feeling tired today and had a headache, I didn't feel up for doing much but I did need some distraction so I had a bath and then read more of the book.
  5. I don't know if that's the case, but either way . Don't worry, I'm sure we'll all don't mind discussing it with you as well once you've finished it . It's not your fault you can't read as often because of your MS . How far are you in the book?
  6. Periodic tables of literature (3 below, more on the source link below, 11 in total): Source: http://ebookfriendly.com/literary-periodic-tables-elements/
  7. That's great to hear/read ! I'm waiting for the English paperback release, I really liked the first book.
  8. Hmmm well I know of some characters who speak with accents, but when does one call it broken English? As someone whose first language is Dutch (not English), I'm not entirely sure! I know characters who change some of their wording but I don't know any that change every word they say. Ones I can think of at the moment, that speak with an accent, are Hagrid from the Harry Potter books (by J. K. Rowling), Asher from the Kingmaker, Kingbreaker series (by Karen Miller) or some characters from The Maze Runner books (by James Dashner). I've also heard the Chaos Walking trilogy (by Patrick Ness) has some characters with accents but I haven't read that yet. I'm sure there's more but this is all I can think of for now. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, though. Personally I prefer it when characters speak 'normal' readable English as due to the fact it's my second language and not first, I find it difficult to understand if characters don't speak correctly (the same goes for when people type on internet sites such as Facebook).
  9. Thanks ! I started on Tuesday evening and I finished Thursday in the later afternoon, so I suppose about 2 days total . I was quite surprised at it too, I really wanted to keep on reading so I did. Thanks . I hope you like The Scorch Trials, I look forward to hear / read your thoughts on that one .
  10. Great review, I'm glad you enjoyed the book !
  11. Awww that's a shame to hear. The book is on my wishlist but I think your criticism would annoy me too! I started to read James Dashner - The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure yesterday, I'm only on page 18 atm, almost at chapter 5, but so far it's interesting. I look forward to read more in it later today.
  12. Yes, he does . Yesterday we watched X-men: Days of Future Past, which was quite nice . Neither of us had heard a lot about this film, but we liked the other X-men films that we saw, this one was good too.
  13. Thanks ! A librarian! That sounds nice . Good luck with your studies!
  14. Wow, so early! Yeah that's not nice at all . When I was still studying at university I'd have the same thing, from October until March or April, I'd be leaving the house in the dark and coming back in the dark. It was especially troublesome on those days where I had to be in locations and rooms without many windows.
  15. I hope you enjoy The Scorch Trials !
  16. Oh.. well I haven't really talked with anyone about it other than my boyfriend, to be honest. Are you interested in seeing it?
  17. I know, it's very sweet of you . I'm sorry if I came across as harsh, that wasn't my intention .
  18. I'm quite curious what they will make of it, I hope it will be nice but because expectations around the world are so high, maybe it'll disappoint. We just have to wait and see, but I'm interested to see it when it's out.
  19. That's very true, I'm really glad for that ! I've never broken a bone and I hope it will stay that way.
  20. 4:30! Here it's around 5:15 (or 17:15 as we say). It does get dark quite early, and it'll continue to be that way for another two months. What time does it get dark there in December (around the 21rst)?
  21. This sounds intruiging, if / when you read it I'd love to know what you thought of it .
  22. I don't think Frankie has a Kindle, but I wouldn't know for sure.
  23. As far as I know they were all first published in 2014 and most books are published as hardcovers and don't become paperbacks until 6-12 months later, so you could very well be right (and it's also the reason I haven't heard of many).
  24. James Dashner - The Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials Genre: Science-fiction Age-range: Young-Adult Format: Paperback Pages: 359 (excluding an excerpt) Date read: 11-11-2014 <-> 13-11-2014 Synopsis: (no synopsis because it's part two of a series) My thoughts: After I finished book one in this series, I really wanted to know what would happen after its ending, so I immediately started to read book two (for the Group Read of this series on BCF). The book picks up where book one ended, and straight away I was into the story and wanted to know more. This book is pretty suspenseful, just like the first one. There are plenty of plot twists and I really enjoyed reading it. There was maybe a bit too much focus on action and less on talking but overall I thought it was a good story, pretty tense throughout. It's hard to talk about the book without spoilers, different things happen than in book one but there are also similarities. Some new characters are introduced and I thought they were pretty interesting. I found it a shame when the book ended, I want to know more, so I think I'll read book three straight away . Overall I think if you liked the first book you'll like this one too. I really enjoyed reading this book, it's pretty action packed and well thought out. Rating: ***** (9/10)
  25. I just finished The Scorch Trials, wow what a book.. and how can it end there! So I must move on to book three immediately . I also thought the Cranks were quite an interesting element. I'll be posting my review soon (I've just written it). Overall though I have to say I quite liked the book, it's different than the first one but there's also plenty of similarities. I enjoyed both to be honest (though maybe in different ways), and the story does feel as if it's meant as one whole. I'm really curious as to what's exactly going on with (do not read if you haven't read book one): and (do not read if you haven't read books one and two):
