  1. It was brilliant wasn't it, she is such a nice person..... watching the cycling its so nail biting but go Queen Vic!!!! Just watched the Chinese make a massive tactical mistake in her first race
  2. well thankfully i got to watch the stupendous Bolt do it again, but now I hve no tv service, what a pain, its all gone blank and i am on the phone to the company.
  3. Yeah he is a scary legend when he is angry, that was my interview of the games so far wanted to see if his skin would go green I am exhausted with all this channel hopping and Olympic action...
  4. I have read quite a few of the series and they are very good for a bit of escapism and humour...archaeology as we wish it was
  5. The Olympics haven't exactly impacted on my reading instead I end up watching a variety of things until about 12 then reading until 1....whats suffering is my work (especially when I have the olympics on at the same time)
  6. Yeah me too. I have become a massive cycling fan in the last few years both the road and the velodrome, but the atmosphere looks fantastic.
  7. I have been meaning to read this for some time after I read The Knife of Never Letting Go and loved his style of writing. The Illustrations also look right up my street.
  8. I am loving it all which is why I am not on here much to busy flicking through the channels to watch the massive variety of sports on offer. Not sure work is enjoying my late nights and tired face in the morning when I feel the need to watch the beach volleyball at about midnight. I love the atmosphere in the velodrome...go Team GB cyclists!!!
  9. I have and I loved it he is consistently good isn't he.
  10. Excellent news, I am just working my way through Headhunters at the moment and have read the latest Harry Hole which btw was great!
  11. If I was goiing to read one Prehistoric non Palaeo book book, it would be 'Ancestral Geographies of the Neolithic - Landscapes Monuments and Memory by Mark Edmonds though published in 1999 a lot of the content is still good today and he does do some of the most amazing vinettes using real archaeology to take you back in time. Most of the other prehistory books I have are text books or journals from work, and not all of those are interesting at all, in fact if you suffer from insomnia I recommend most archaeology books
  12. Hey Julie, My fingers are crossed for you hope its all good news.
  13. Hey Argon, welcome I am a bit older than 90's kid but love reading too.
  14. So sorry to hear about Dylan he looked like a beautiful cat
  15. I finished Tami Hoag's Deeper than the Dead, not terrible but I did guess the baddie way before the end as its a little formulaic and I have read a few of her books, I think I prefer the earlier ones. alsp started Jo Nesbo's - Headhunters...would very much like to see the film

    Tour de France

What a brilliant sprint finish today I am holding high hopes for the Olympics for Mark Cavendish today....role of the Yellow Jersey for Sunday now. Sorry Kylie but Cadel did not have the legs for the mountains this year.
  17. I am currently negotiating my way through a sea of egos in the office...what a pain!!

  19. I read some excellent book on my hols which as per usual I have failed to update on my reading list ( I need a secretary) but amongst them were the excellent Jo Nesbo - The Phantom and Ben Aaronovitch's - Whispers Under Ground, plus a few others for more easy reading. Lately though its been desperate times whilct wyling away for some of my pre-orders to become live, although I am working my way through Jodi Picoults - Wonder Woman graphic novel.

    Tour de France

Fantastic and dramatic yesterday hope todays has been as good but I only get to see the highlights, love it when they get to the mountains. I do think yesterdays slowing of the Peloton showed real sportsmanship though something sadly lacking in so many more 'popular' sports.
  21. I am just back from spain and its about 20 degrees cooler here than it was there where the average temp about midday was 38 (hot hot toooo hot) I had many siesta's and did a lot of reading and not a lot of sitting outside. Tour de France

Any big Tour fans on here, I am an addict, it clashes for a while with Wimbledon but I reckon I can do both at the same time. Some real British hope this year with Bradley Wiggins but for a sport of endurance and pain it can't be beaten. Its possibly one of the few sports where you get to see the countryside around the whole country and a history lesson at the same time.
  25. One day til a week in Spain what can possibly go wrong
