I've been listening to The White Tiger on audio.

I think thats a really good point Frankie. I think sometimes maybe i can be so enthusiatic about the things i love i proberbly sound like i'm trying to convert everyone all the time! However i get the impression that a lot less people are reading nowadays because they feel other things entertain them quicker, without them having to put any effort in. Basically people are just getting lazy. I also know some people who don't read and they admit they haven't really tried. It just sounds like hard work to them. Reading does have many benefits. They include: improving peoples concentration, encouraging creativeness and imagination, spelling and writing skills, and many more. For my part, i would definatly expect my children to read. I don't expect them to be avid readers, just to be a reader. I also hate the idea of being in a world full of people with no imagination or a lack of patience with anything other than a computer game, tv, etc. Imagination is what drives people to create, and without creation there would be no expression, and without expression the world would be a very dull and insular place to live.

My neighbours brought us over a plate of food. It was two rice dishes. So we had a little of each for our tea. It's really nice actually, they often bring us a little bit of something they've cooked up.

When you go on a walk with some friends or when you go clothes/window shopping with someone and they rush you, darting about from one place to another!. I mean the idea of a walk or shopping is not a chore, it's meant to be a lesirely thing. I just plain refused to be rushed. If they want to rush then they can do what they need to do and just go home early to rush through the next thing. Me? I'm determined to enjoy the time i have whereever i am. Especially when shopping!

That is exactly how i feel! I think i will try reading an old fav then.

I feel as if i want to read at the moment but i just can't get into anything. I spent 20mins today at the liabary just looking for an audio book just to try and keep me motivated, but nothing appealed to me. I know i want to read the books on my TBR list, but i just cannot stick to reading more than a chapter! It's driving me mad. I'm thinking maybe if i forget my TBR list for now and read an old fav. Something light anf fun like a Roald Dahl book!?

I presume you mean Endal. It's an amazing true story. I hope you enjoy it. I'm planning on reading Pelican Brief this year. It's on my TBR list.

I remember when i was young my mum always used to say 'when i was your age i was reading such and such' and so on and it used to annoy me because we never really read together as a family. But my husband's family was totally different. They love books, and they especially love sharing this love. Now Ben and I have adopted this idea and we read together. Now i am determined that when i have children, i'm going to read to them and with them as soon as i can, and even when they get older and past the 'bedtime story' stage i still plan to read with them, as a family. Just the same as Ben's family do. Even now we all sit and read together and i love it. Maybe try this with you cousin. Read a story with her. You could even do it a bit cheekily by reading it yourself and then saying "hey listen to this", until you excite her interest, ect. That might work.

Determined to be strong, Sandra would have to fight to keep her family together. Endal was a Labrador puppy with problems of his own until he 'adopted' Allen and Sandra. He was to change their world, and give them back their family. A very moving true story. It is about the ability of mans best friend, to be able to reach out and help people in ways that they cannot help themselves. It's about the therapeutic effects of having a dog. Endal was trained by a group called Canine Partners, but was unable at first to finish his training due to joint problems, but from the moment he saw Allen and sensed his need to be brought back from the depths of depression and dispair, nobody could stop this loving animal from helping and reaching out to Allen. Together Endal and Allen performed 'many tricks' in the interest of making life more accessible for Allen, and they often caught the attention of the media. The sort of things Endal did was help Allen use a cash machine by putting in the card and taking it out along with the cash and dropping it in his masters lap. He emptied the washing machine, opened cuboards, picked up things that dropped on the floor all to sign language commands that Allen invented for their personal communication. Through this special relationship Endal managed to teach Allen some special things to. Such as how to love, how to be considerate and how to interact with people. These changes helped Allen and Sandra to fall in love a second time. But this time Allen remembered it. Brilliant. I recommend people read this surprising story. 10/10

Just finished Endal - Allen & Sandra Parton. I think i'm going to move onto Things I Want my Daughters to Know. I'm still reading Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy with my OH as well.
