    Your Age?

Haha! That is really frightening when you put it like that! Hope you're both well

    Your Age?

I joined this forum when I was ten (gasp... that's nine years ago! ). I'm twenty in July!
  3. I had some Quorn "chicken" nuggets, salad, spinach, and some peppery sweet potato wedges I made
  4. BBC Wildlife. I also sometimes buy Vegetarian Living and Cook Vegetarian, too
  5. It's been good! Started out a bit overcast, but the sun came out this afternoon... ...Then it started being all Plymouth-like again (i.e. raining!)
  6. Talisman, good luck with your new job! Sounds like you're enjoying it. I'm absolutely shattered! I've spent the weekend in Plymouth for an applicant's day, where I got to know my course tutors, and already made friends with one of my future classmates. The tutors were all splendid, and you could tell that they all really care about the subject (environmental science) and the students. The course sounds brilliant- we even have a field trip to Malaysia in the second year! I can't wait to start, as I had an unconditional offer (already done my A levels) from them way back in October and I accepted it straight away, so I'm guarenteed a place. We stayed with some friends in a village about 20 minutes from Plymouth, so we also spent some time relaxing in the countryside. Now I'm just having a quiet, lazy afternoon. I walked round to my grandparents' house this morning, and filled in some health and safety agreement forms because I'm due to start volunteering (as an education volunteer) at Howletts Wild Animal Park at the weekend. Now I'm just listening to some of my favourite music, and relaxing. I'm also going to finish brushing up on my knowledge about gorillas and Madagascan wildlife later when I'm feeling a bit more awake, and start applying for Plymouth accommodation tomorrow!
  7. I'm halfway through Gorillas in the Mist by Dian Fossey. Beautiful book!
  8. I've been in bed all morning with a cold, so I read the whole of WWF's Vanishing Animals. Starting Gerald Durrell's The Aye Aye and I this evening!
  9. I have this book, I've had it for about a year. I must read it at some point, it does sound good. It's interesting to see everyone's opinions on this book!
  10. Just finished watching a documentary film called Blackfish, which tells the story of SeaWorld orca Tilikum. I'm actually still crying! :') Very powerful stuff.
  11. During sixth form, I volunteered for a while at a place for severely disabled primary school children, which was both rewarding and inspiring. Soon I will be volunteering with my local wildlife trust.
  12. I'm completely in love with Mark Carwardine's Ultimate Wildlife Adventures. Mum and Dad bought it for me for Christmas as they know I completely adore everything there is to the animal kingdom, and because Mark Carwardine's been my hero since I was about six when I found his book on killer whales. I own some of his other books, as well as the Last Chance To See BBC series, but this one is his best and most inspiring by far. The stunning photography is done by him on the most part; I think only four, maybe five or six, aren't his own in this amazing book. The book describes some of the best places he's been to see some of the world's best wildlife. I love curling up in bed when I'm tired and imagining myself in Mark's feet as he's cage diving with great whites in Mexico (I would LOVE to do this some day) or listening to the noise of hundreds of puffins as a minke whale passes in the sunset when he's in Iceland. It's a really inspiring book, for anyone who loves nature or just wants to see anything different. The link below shows just some of the best photographs in the book, all taken by Mark himself. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthpicturegalleries/9326594/Mark-Carwardines-Ultimate-Wildlife-Experiences.html
  13. Fall Out Boy- My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up) I love this song!
  14. Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could help me? I'm nearly at the end of my A level history course, and our teacher has told us to read as many books surrounding Charles I as possible, particularly on the period between 1629 and 1642 over the next two months. I've read a few books already, but our teacher insists that we read new material right up until the exam so that we can develop our arguments and practice supporting our arguments. I've read the followng: * The King's Peace by C.V. Wedgwood, which I read for my coursework * Monarchy by David Starkey * Regicide and Rebellion by Graham E. Seel * The English Civil Wars by Angela Anderson Could anyone reccommend some good material to read? Thanks a lot!
  15. We went out for dinner tonight. Because of some problems, they only had the carvery running. So I had a delicious veggie roast, and then a Baileys and caramel cheesecake. Very full now!
  16. Quorn steak, salad, chips and onion rings, and had a chocolate and vanilla cheesecake for pudding.
  17. Quorn lemon and pepper escalope. Yummy!
  18. Going to start Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel tonight.
  19. Couscous and some Mexican patty made out of a variety of beans and pulses, then a honey yogurt.
  20. Vegetarian Mexican burger and a large portion of spicy potato wedges. At lunchtime, I had a Korean vegetarian ramen soup.
