Why the Whales Came by Michael Mopurgo When Gracie and Daniel get stranded on the "cursed" island of Samson, they discover a narwhal tusk around 100 years old. Later, when they find their way home on Bryher, they find the Birdman, a man the island really loaths, with a stranded Narwhal. He said that it had something to do with the curse on Samson .......... When the Birdman proves himself right, the islanders set to rescue the stranded Narwhal. This is a book about whether people believes in the curse. I would recommend this book and it is a one that I would read again.

Why The Whales came... I finished it today. It's a good book, which I will definitely reread. Review going on under children's section.

Oh Kell! I didn't know it was a film! I bet it's good, but I don't like films that make me cry that much! :oops: I'll watch out for this one then!!!

I read Charlotte's Web on holiday... and loved it! My fave character was Avery because he was quite funny! I was relieved when Wilbur didn't become a slice of bacon or a pork chop! I understand that this book is a classic. Does anyone remember reading it?
