I loved the film 'Babette's Feast'

I watched that in my media studies class at secondary school and loved it too. :)

I'm gonna suggest Lost In Translation, I don't really know anyone who likes it, and I think it's an absolutely beautiful movie!

Still Crazy? I was only 10 when that came out so it may only be underrated among my generation, but it's a great film. Jimmy Nail, Billy Connolly, Bill Nighy, what more could you want?

The Weatherman - personally I think it's one of Nicolas Cage's funnier films, and it's quite dark humour, which I love.

Primer - Definitely underrated, being a winner at the Sundance Festival and made on a $7000 budget in a mathematician's garage with one actual actor, and some famil and friends. Nevertheless, it's probably the greatest time travel (scientific time travel, not silly time travel) movies I've ever seen.

The Lookout - if for no other reason, worth a watch for the superb portrayal by Joseph Gordon Levitt of a partially brain-damaged car crash victim learning to adapt to having no short term memory - and being borrowed as a lookout for a bank robbery.

The Man From Earth - a Professor who claims to to be a Magdalenian caveman, 14,000 years old, tells his story to a biologist, a devout Christian, an anthropologist, a historian, a psychiatrist and an archaeologist. Really excellent thinking movie.

There are two others I can think of, but given their content I'm not sure I feel right about talking about them publically on a family friendly forum. They star Kevin Bacon in one, and Joseph Gordon Levitt in the other, and deal with the same subject matter but from opposing perspectives. If anyone is interested they can always PM me.

I think I know the Kevin Bacon film you're referring to, and why you might not want to talk about it here. I do agree though that it is a very under-rated film. Kevin Bacon is a pretty under-rated actor in general as well.

Midnight Run would have to be the film I think is most underrated. I'm not a fan of Robert De Niro generally, but I think this film is great - funny but with enough heart to draw you in to it. Good stuff.

Thanks Sod. :) I also think Go is underrated.

Yes please, Go is Great! :)

That's so funny, all the people I know who have watched it have liked it, and I didn't :D
