runner
Upon recommendation I have started reading Boy's life by Robert McCammon and it is magnificent. A coming of age story but told in such colourful detail and prose, I would recommend to those in search of intelligent horror...is anyone else a fan and what books should I read next? Pixie
I'm not a fan, as I am new to his work, but I just finished Boy's Life not too long ago. I posted a review about it here. http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/7713-boys-life-by-robert-mccammon/ Other ones by him that look good are Swan Song, Mine, Gone South, and Speaks the Nightbird. Karsa Orlong
Wow, that's a name from the past. I haven't read Boy's Life, but I vividly remember reading Stinger and Wolf's Hour by the same author, many moons ago - probably more than 20 years ago (shudder!). Stinger still rates as one of the scariest books I've read
oceansoul
I've just ordered stinger and the thirst from amazon market place. Didn't like the sound of boy's life but those others sound good. They all had alot of 5 star reviews too.

kurtz
I recently read Gone South and I loved it, but it is not really a horror story. It has very bizarre characters though, and is also very funny in some parts. I would recommend this book to anyone, regardless of what kind of books they read, because it has something for everyone.
